Vanity: Bill O'Reilly, shut your mouth about oil

Posted on 02/29/2012 5:28:51 PM PST by jsdjason

In the words of Jim Cramer: "YOU KNOW NOTHING." He inexplicably opposes a free market when it comes to energy policy. He's so empty-minded that he doesn't realize that restraining the free energy market does not lower gas prices. If you restrain oil companies you force them to produce less, hence the supply is lower and the price never retreats to "what it should be." Bill O'Reilly is a buffoon that needs to retire. I can't take anymore of his "conservative" views.

Not inexplicable on O’Reilly’s part. The man is nowhere near as conservative as he likes to claim on-air and is rather liberal.

Agreed. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to stomach O’Reilly. Maybe if he had a pocket Constitution??? Even a Hahvad man should be able to understand it.

I didn’t see it, and I don’t know a lot about oil prices, but why did oil prices go down right before the 2006 congressional elections?

O’Reilly is such an ignoramus on economics. (Well he is an ignoramus on most things, but he is particularly egregious on economic issues!)

O’Reilly thinks graduating from HaHvad maks one brilliant. He insists Obama is brilliant and fancies himself as such too.

jesus people, O’Reilly is a liberal populist!

Kinda correct. Oil companies cut 'supply' all the time to reach prices. If they over produce, its not profitable for them. Simple supply and demand. Really cool when you control the 'supply'.

I tried to watch his recent interviews with an oil company executive and Newt Gingrich on the gas price spike. He was unbelievably rude and interrupted incessantly, never letting them finish a complete thought. The man is simply insane with arrogance!

Worse, he exhibits total ignorance of how the oil and financial markets work and resists all attempts to educate him. I now find his show a complete waste of time.

O’Reilly “This is not a partisan analysis. When President Obama took office, I knew he was an income redistribution guy. In fact, I challenged him on that in our first interview during the 2008 campaign. But once elected I decided to give the president a chance to see if his economic vision, big government management of the economy, could turn things around.”

O'Reilly has always impressed me as a conservative by calculation. He wanted to make a big splash in the talk radio/TV world and a lot of money doing it. He is smart enough to understand that a liberal talker has a limited future there. His instincts would appear to be left rather than right but he donned the persona of a Conservative Talk Show Host for commercial reasons. It shows up when he gets wrong footed taking a Liberal position. He gets called on it and sometimes retracts or says something about context or he doesn't mention that subject any more.Sometimes he insists on his view and sounds like he got off on the wrong platform and doesn't know why the station doesn't look right. I think he is constitutionally a Liberal in a Conservative suit.
After hearing him go off on weird tangents a few times I quit listening.

I suspect he feels graduating from an Ivy League school places one in the ruling class. O’Reilly is about as good as anybody at confronting libtards, which ain’t no easy task, but he tends to go off the rails at times which drives me nuts. It’s gotten to the point where I rarely watch him any more to keep the blood pressure at reasonable a level. ;^)

He makes an ass out of himself, everytime he broches the subject. How he can’t see this is beyond me. This is an intelligent and articulate man.

He did admit this is all posturing; trying to garner some knd of sympathetic action by private business. What is puzzling is that he sees the hypothetical intervention as net beneficial to the “folks”.

That’s what he needs to articulate. He’s not because he can’t.

When I learned from BOR’s own mouth that he adored Robert Kennedy and despised Joe McCarthy, I knew all I needed to know to stop watching his program.

I remember during the 70’s oil crisis that carter said that more drilling and refining wouldn’t do any good because it would take 10 years for it to have an effect. Well, the 10 years passed and we still need the drilling and refining. If they had started then we would not be in this mess now.

As of bill o’liar, I never listen to him anyway. Sometimes he has a guest on that I like and will turn the sound back on then. o’liar wouldn’t know the truth if it hit in the nose. Remember, he also saw obama’s birth certificate too.

Only claim to Conservatism is he’s Catholic and therefor more prone to be against abortion, a Huckabee evangelical at best.
