Double teaming: employed more frequently near the basket than away. In US politics..it's used to keep the unwashed American hopefuls from getting the numbers to gain any momentum.

Feeling threatened by "The Vest" now, are we? LOL.

Must be doing something right, if we have to grasp at straws like that. Good luck, though. ;-)

This explains why Team Romney is set to destroy
Mr. Santorum. Every good deed is destroyed
by Romney, Rove, BAIN, Marriott, Soros, and their MSM/DNC.

I see that the Romney smear machine is already up and running against Santorum, that didn't take long.

Romney is a slimy SOB

Well - imagine this, Gingrich gets hot again (and I think he just might) Santorum drops to low levels, pulls out and supports Romney. Romney asks Santorum to run as his VP.

In politics, stranger things than that have frequently happened.

It might be my imagination but the conservative boards, including FR, seem a lot quieter lately.

I’m wondering if all this candidate bashing isn’t running off some. People need someone to be for, not always against. Hope I’m wrong, we need all our warriors to defeat Obama.

This is typical Romney Slime machine tactics. Since they know that conservatives can’t stand him, he will begin some attacks by showing a candidate’s attachment to him.

It is amazing how that machine interjects this kind of “hurt the conservative” by touting supposedly anti-conservative actions, words, etc., of the conservative candidate.

And conservatives fall right into that trap. Even freepers.

We know the RomSlime playbook now. They will use anything...true or untrue...to hurt an opponent.

What you conveniently left out was Santorum's reason for endorsing Romney....an attempt to stop that wildly successful and truly Conservative John McCain.

But, I'm far more intrigued by this false mantra being repeated by some (such as yourself) that Santorum is some kind of stalking horse for Romney. If you watched any of Santorum's speeches or his debate performances, you would know your insinuation is absurd.

But then again, you might not care how absurd your post is as long as it's an attack against someone you view as a threat against your candidate.

So you think that Rick Santorum is carrying water for Romney when he bitch-slapped him across three states yesterday, and said in his victory speech that we need to nominate a conservative, not a moderate like Romney? To stay with the basketball analogy that you introduced, you’re falling for your own pump-fake here.

Herman Cain was not a stalking horse for Mitt Romney.

Rick Perry was not a stalking horse for Mitt Romney.

Michele Bachmann was not a stalking horse for Mitt Romney.

Newt Gingrich is not, and has never been, a stalking horse for Mitt Romney (I think I recall some Perry fans making this silly claim at some point).

And Rick Santorum is not, and has never been, a stalking horse for Mitt Romney.

Just because some people (and in CO, MO and MN, apparently many, many people) like another conservative candidate better than your preferred conservative candidate does not mean that they or the candidate are secretly plotting to help a liberal like Mitt Romney get the nomination. I don’t begrudge you for supporting Newt (I’m assuming you support Newt; if you support Ron Paul, then you’ve got bigger issues than a slight persecution complex), because Newt is a conservative, and if you prefer him to Santorum that’s your right. (If you preferred a liberal to Santorum, that would also be your right, but then you’d be in the wrong forum.)

You should try to convince Santorum supporters that Newt Gingrich is a better conservative than Santorum, or has a better chance of defeating Romney than does Santorum, or would have an easier time defeating Obama in the general than would Santorum, not post ridiculous innuendo about a fellow conservative.

People aren’t that stupid. They remember that almost evryone including Rush, Beck, and Hannity were behind Romney simply to stop McCain. I was too and so were most people on this site. We all knew what would happen with a McCain nomination.

Uh, Romney was the most conservative of the viable Republican candidates in 2008.

My choice was Allen Keyes, but he was a nonstarter for organizational reasons. Ideologically, I was more closely aligned with him than with any other candidate.

I voted for Romney in the NH primary in 2008, because McCain was ANATHEMA to me. He still is.

I voted for Santorum in the NH primary this year, because he was the candidate most closely aligned to my own ideology, about 85%.

I don’t trust Newt.

I’ll vote for him if he gets the nomination, but I don’t trust him.

In 2008, Romney might have been the most conservative candidate. LOL

Want me to try to dig up the audio of Newt endorsing Dede Scuzzawhatshername?

If Newt ends up being the best anti-Mitt option, I'm cool with that.

But why do you want to rip down Santorum?

I understand you are passionate about Newt Gingrich.

I, like you, cannot stomach Romney. I watched the Romney dirt bags destroy Palin during the 2008 election. Ex-Romney campaign workers destroyed the McCain/Palin campaign.

Newt shouldn’t have gotten in the dirt with the Romney pig. Newt should have stayed on message and ignored Romney.

With that said, don’t go after Santorum with accusations that can’t be proven. Santorum may be the only hope we have to rid ourselves of Obama.

Newt is chasing his tail now because he was knocked off the rails by a low life. Romney may go after the entire party next. Stay alert and don’t play into the fraud’s game.

Think about it.

Mitt ran a more conservative campaign in 2008 than he is this year. He also was the only conceivable alternative to McCain. I voted for him in the TX presidential primary 4 years ago. I’ll vote for Santorum this year.

Santorum endorsed Romney because he knew up close and personal what a duplicitous pr5ck McCain actually is. I find that admirable and am amazed that opposing McCain is looked at as some kind of bad thing.
