Well - imagine this, Gingrich gets hot again (and I think he just might) Santorum drops to low levels, pulls out and supports Romney. Romney asks Santorum to run as his VP.

In politics, stranger things than that have frequently happened.

I don’t see how Newt can pull it off. Debating was his one trick pony and everyone figured out how to deal with it (no audience participation, audience participation but only for Romney supporters, fewer debates, etc)

That’s not an impossibility, and something that wouldn’t surprise me.

Ross Santorum is a humorless variant of Dubya. On a personal level, the guy’s great, but I’m not that interested in his paternalistic disposition despite his liberty oriented rhetoric.

Santorum is only still in the race because Friess, who supported Romney in 2008, is bankrolling him to take votes from Gingrich.

Once the job is done, sweater vest gets a pat on the head and a cushy job for helping the blue bloods and country clubbers take out the only non-lawyer still running.

I think you’ve put your finger on something.
I like you believe that Gingrich WILL get hot again.
With this new “dynamic” of “Santorum is now the new legitimate
challenger to Romney”, both Romney and Santorum are bound to fritter away more energy on attacking each other, and distinguishing themselves from one another, which is all to the good of Gingrich, who can just lay back on the sidelines, re-group, and quietly collect funds for his “big surge” which will come for real probably a month from now.
The only real contender to ROmney has been Gingrich, and that is a dynamic that won’t change.
Santorum and his supporters are experiencing a heady time right now, but the raw numbers (total votes) show
they don’t mean very much at all.
As far as Veep choices, I don’t see ANY of these three men,
regardless of who gets the nomination, picking any of the others for Veep.
