“The civil war was fought for the wrong reasons.”

I disagree; the logic was sound. The South couldn’t co-exist with a North that had increasingly left the tenets of the founders by the wayside. The South was living the revolution, against blue coats that had replaced red coats; they much more resembled the country founded in 1776 than their Northern counterparts.

To this day those differences are evident.

There wasn't any logic, the Democrat slave owners used any and all excuses to fight for slavery against the party formed to fight against slavery (Republicans). Slavery is not a states power issue any more than the 2nd amendment is a states power issue.

The difference between Republicans (at least the ones that care about the constitution) and Democrats still evident yes, but I'm not sure which side you are on.
