Standing in front of Cindarella Castle at Walt Disney World this afternoon, President Obama will call for a national strategy to make the United States the world’s No. 1 travel and tourism destination.
It may be a small world, but tourism is big bucks. International tourists spent an estimated $140 billion in the U.S. last year. (Full disclosure: Disney is the parent company of ABC News.)
Whether they come here to Disney World to meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse — or elsewhere — tourists from emerging economies such as China, India and Brazil are their own mini stimulus packages — dropping up to $6,000 per tourist.
But for the past decade they’ve been increasingly spending that money elsewhere, as the U.S. share of global tourism plummeted from 17 percent to 11 percent. This is largely because of post-9/11 security proecedures that have made getting a visa an ardous ordeal. One Brazilian tourist we met at Disney World told us it took her three months to get an appointment to apply for her tourist visa.

My European friends come here for SHOPPING, because the dollar is so devalued that everything is practically free here! They come here like we used to go to hong kong or Mexico for cheap junk!

Don’t we need decades of environmental impact studies first? Making it easier for foreign tourists to simply hop on a plane can’t be good for Gaia or for the birds sure to be sucked into jet engines.

Even with the HUGH problems the EU is having, the Euro is still worth a good penny more than a Dollar. So now Euro-Trash like from France can come here and order us around and bitch about our lousy American 'cuisine' as they stink up the places they visit. But even worse then the Euro-Trash coming is now the hoser Canadians can come here and mock us while shopping at Tiffany & Co, or Neiman Marcus (aka: Needless Markup) and Americans are standing outside with tin cups begging for loose change from all the foreigner 'tourists'..
If Barry, oops Geo Soros, had his way the Dollar would be worth that of the Peso, old French Franc, or Italian Lira -- and whatever useless currency is used in the likes of Botswana. And they won't stop devaluing the dollar until we're on par with #@%$ing Zimbabwe!
It is also a bit of pay back for the job ABC, owned by Disney, is doing on Newt for him.

The several Disney parks forums I have frequented are going absolutely nuts!
First off they are paranoid as all getouts to post anything that will be recorded, the ones that are on vacation are really pissed off because their pass for the day is being “blacked out” due to Obamas visit, the park itself is absolutely being hammered with up-security precautions.
A very divided culture is evolving, the cult like supporters of Obama who truly believe in his transformation of America into the FIRST successful super socialist dreamland and the conservative Constitutional loyalists, of which quite a few are considering ways to publicly remind Obama of it at WDW.

What is weird is reading about what the WDW park cast member’s are saying, that the Sleeping Beauty castle is chock full of snipers.
The uttilidors under main Street are in full lockdown by heavily armed security teams.
And the communications around the area are having “technical problems”.
