Humiliated in Iowa, a desperate and angry Newt Gingrich is taking the offensive against Mitt Romney, whom he accuses of "looting companies when he headed the Bain Capital investment firm," reports NationalJournal.com, and "conservative interests are pushing back":...

But what if it is true?
Don’t you think Soetoro and company have already planned to hit Romney hard on Bain? They have their own R&D dept. They don’t need Newt to find the way.
If Romney gets nominated Obama is going to go after Mitt a lot worse than Newt and then he will get up on the debate stage and thank Mitt for designing Obamacare for him..
And when the GOP understands that they need the middle class to win anything,, they might ponder how every factory they move out of the country is a plank sawed away. A plank they need.
Reagan was supported by LOTS of regular hard working blue collar families, in factories, on assembly lines, in manufacturing. The GOP better wake up.
Romney and his cabal of GOP Establishment types brought it on themselves.
Before this latest escapade, I was voting Gingrich. Will now lean toward Santorum unless I think Gingrich has a good chance to beat Romney.
All Gingrich had to do when he was on top was to stay disciplined and not get cocky. He couldn’t do either. Come to think of it, he was never disciplined. But he did get cocky and wasn’t able stay above the fray and behave in a statesmen like manner, which I think really helped him climb in the polls. I still think Gingrich would do the best in debates against Obama - unfortunately he is now proving once again that there is just no telling what would come out of his mouth between now and then.
Was it legal? Yes. Was it moral? Cant say it was. Should the government stop this practice? No. And Newt didnt say it should. He simply says the public should know about it.
He’s right. Enlightened capitalists realize that treating their employees and customers with dignity and respect will ultimately enhance the bottom line. Happy employees lead to happy customers and that leads to happy investors. Those who make fortunes on the backs and suffering of others will not prevail if their misdeeds are exposed. The heavy hand of government is not needed, just a dose of sunlight.
A lot of people, including me were disappointed when she opted not to run but I didn't pull my support for her because of that. She may not be running for POTUS but neither am I a sunshine patriot.
Newt is speaking out about crony-capitalism and he too is taking arrows.Gotta give the guy credit.
Scorched earth? I think not. The overriding priority is defeat OBozo. That said ... if Romney is the nominee, I and MANY other conservatives will vote Romney. It’s crap like this that gave rise to Slick Willie.
“he did get cocky and wasnt able stay above the fray and behave in a statesmen like manner”
Why would Gingrich stay above the fray? RINO Romney went savage oh him with 9 mill in ads.
Gingrich knows what he is doing...and I will gaurantee you he wins South Carolina.
No question the ads were effective and are likely the biggest reason the wheels came off, but as soon as he got up in the polls, Gingrich made several comments that were cocky that just made me cringe, including “I am going to be the Nominee”. He just couldn’t check his ego. Also, a reason he did well before then was that he refrained from attacking other Republican candidates during the debates and focused on Obama and the media.
On the contrary, it is Limbaugh who is just about burning his last bridge with conservatives today.
“Newt has disgraced himself. This is as bad as his attacks on Congressman Ryan.”
Newt’s attack on the politically ill-timed, ill-conceived, attack by Congressman Ryan on entitlements was not a bad move.
“On the contrary, it is Limbaugh who is just about burning his last bridge with conservatives today.”
Speak for yourself, newcomer.
I’ve listened to Rush for 22 year, been on this board over 13 years. Rush is solidly conservative.
That has nothing to do with liking or not liking Romney, which might be too complex of an analysis, for some here.
Listen to this truth.
It was most entertaining to hear Limbaugh drop the pretense of being a conservative yesterday and today. Ill still tune in to hear the parodies - they make me laugh almost as much as the idea Limbaugh is anything other than a suck-up to the establishment.
Funny though that Newt’s enemies, throwing the kitchen sink at him, are our enemies in every shape and form. With the exception of heretofor conservative bastions like the National Review and Rush Limbaugh, who on this one are throwing in with the bashers of Newt right along with the Establishment.
Now comes Gallup polling showing Obama drops like four points in only days - down to 42. I figure the message, in translation, is that as Romney rises, Obama falls.
Isn’t that nice? Is it true? Perhaps any of our candidates taking off in the polling would garner the same result.
South Carolina is our last real stand, or else.
It is a shame that Newt decided to go personal and come across a bitter man. It has only hurt him. He is a smart man, but he must have became desperate.
Newt is shooting himself in the foot. I hear he plans to campaign with Clyburn in SC. Sounds treasonous to me.
The naivete around her reeks. Whatever FAUX feeds and the msm serves up is swallowed whole, as if it is true because they said it.
Romney had enemies the last time he grinned for the nation coast to coast, among the other candidates, because he is a very dirty little player. Newt was ALL in for running a positive campaign and did so, while defending the entire field against panelists in the debates.
How did Romney pay any of that back? He ran eight ads an hour, all negative, and swamped mailboxes with the same negative theme against Newt. What was Newt suppose to do? It killed him in Iowa because the naive believed what Romney spent millions to make them believe, hiring consultants who know how to to make them believers.
I like anger. It’s high time for anger. Newt represents me just fine.
