My 1/8 of a cent... He is a Constitutional Purist, that means sovereign nations are sovereign regardless of their danger or our opinion of their danger to others. Every day I log on to FR and see many rabid anti- RP posts calling his supporters and the man himself a host of names. I look at The Constitution and find he is much closer to having true Constitutional ideas than most. Makes you see just how far we have strayed from the Original Intent by transferring wealth to whatever the cause de jour is. I have run into candidate pimpers on the board lately that support people I cannot imagine supporting. I think fear is driving people into some state of irrational behavior, hence the name calling. Romney & Huntsman supporters make me scratch my head. Obviously, FR has become infected with Libs. I call them FRINOS. Maybe after this cycle, sanity and debate will return. I never knew about the Federal Reserve Scam until a RP supporter discussed it with me. Now I could have just labeled him crazy and trusted the establishment on that one. I chose to listen find the truth for myself. This debate goes on in my house because my DH thinks only we can save Israel, while I trust God.

while I trust God.

Did he say to turn our backs on them or bless them?

He is a Constitutional Purist,

Oh please, that is one of those 'lies told often enough..'. He bastardizes the Constitution the way Fred Phelps bastardizes the Bible. He picks and chooses and twists the Constitution to fit whatever the whim is of the day. In many cases, he overtly rejects parts of the Constitution. Just because he uses the word over and over, doesn't mean he has a clue about it. He reminds me of college kids wearing Che shirts talking about all they think Che stood for.

That is a distortion “constitutional purist” that paulbots state all the time, it simple is not true.
I saw this saying the other day and it was brilliant,
“Ron Paul is to the Constitution as Fred Phelps is to the Bible.”

This debate goes on in my house because my DH thinks only we can save Israel, while I trust God.

And interesting debate! As long as rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, then they can't do much for Israel? I'm with you. The Messiah (Jesus) is the only hope for Israel and the United States.

I see that alot too. Ideas that strip away our constitutional protections are popular here on FR if someone attaches a them to the WOT, WOD, protecting kids or if it benefits a current GOP office holder. So many here wanted to give George Bush nearly unlimited power to fight the WOT here and abroad, because they said we could trust him. The Patriot Act is a fine example. Well Obama is president now and his administration now has those powers. Maybe the next administration will be even worse.

I think the role of our government needs shrunk, not expanded. It needs to be taken seriously, not just just given lip service to resonate with the voters.

The problem is that many people, such as yourself, think that because Paul has good ideas in one area or even several areas, that makes him a good candidate and those who criticize him are therefore "liberals" and the enemies of his good ideas, conservaqtism and the Constitution. Sorry, but that's a load of crap. Paul's foreign policy ideas are nuts, he has no understanding of the type of war we're in, he's a darling of Code Pink and he encourages truthers. Those things are unacceptable and would ensure a landslide for Obama. Oh, and he's so full of himself he thinks Rick Santorum is a liberal. For these reasons, I wouldn't vote for Paul in the primnary even if he and I agreed on every single domestic issue in detail.

I'm not angry, but I have to tell you (as one of the most ardent Ron Paul critics on this forum) that it's rather bizarre to have a bunch of Ronulans tell me that I don't care about the Constitution I swore an oath to, and their sole piece of evidence for that is that I'm not enamored with their naive, Ahmadinejad loving, DC game-playing, pork-delivering Code Pink darling. Really? Time to get a grip, folks.
