ROBERT REICH: Get Ready For A Obama-Clinton Presidential Ticket

Robert Reich
Dec. 28, 2011, 7:08 PM

My political prediction for 2012 (based on absolutely no inside information): Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden swap places. Biden becomes Secretary of State — a position he’s apparently coveted for years. And Hillary Clinton, Vice President.

So the Democratic ticket for 2012 is Obama-Clinton.

Why do I say this? Because Obama needs to stir the passions and enthusiasms of a Democratic base that’s been disillusioned with his cave-ins to regressive Republicans. Hillary Clinton on the ticket can do that.

Moreover, the economy won’t be in superb shape in the months leading up to Election Day. Indeed, if the European debt crisis grows worse and if China’s economy continues to slow, there’s a better than even chance we’ll be back in a recession. Clinton would help deflect attention from the bad economy and put it on foreign policy, where she and Obama have shined.

The deal would also make Clinton the obvious Democratic presidential candidate in 2016 — offering the Democrats a shot at twelve (or more) years in the White House, something the Republicans had with Ronald Reagan and the first George Bush but which the Democrats haven’t had since FDR. Twelve years gives the party in power a chance to reshape the Supreme Court as well as put an indelible stamp on America.

According to the latest Gallup poll, the duo are this year’s most admired man and woman This marks the fourth consecutive win for Obama while Clinton has been the most admired woman in each of the last 10 years. She’a topped the list 16 times since 1993, exceeding the record held by former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, who topped the list 13 times.

Robert Reich is a sawed-off little blowhard that lies with a straight face, and who I have never heard utter a factually correct statement.

If he said the sun rose in the east, I'd be up at 5:30 to see why the world rotation had reversed.

I give RR as much respect as I give waterbugs at nudist camps... Best to smack 'em with a flip-flop.

RR couldn't either logic or articulate his way out of a very short, wet, paper bag.

And he smells of elderberries.

We tried to warn you about this, Obama. It’s not a smart move.

Well, there is a HELLUVA lot of bad blood between Hussein and the Clintons.

Of course, the question is whether they trust each other enough and desire the POWER enough to walk hand-in-hand.

I believe this ticket would make it MUCH more difficult for Republicans to beat...Hussein is worshipped by his urban base, and Hitlery is worshipped by the feminazis.

So let’s see....I would be surprised, after all the bad blood from the 2008 primary season, that these two would trust each other.

SoS has more influence than VP. This has to be to line Hillary up to be the heir apparent.

The vertically challenged Robert Reich has finally said something I that I can agree with. Barack the Kenyan is a sitting duck without Hillary Clinton on the ticket. And the Kenyan knows it. I’m just wondering what the excuse will be. Plugs has been diagnosed with some disease? He wants to work on his standup comedian stuff? He’s got a shot at a Home Depot franchise where he drinks coffee with the boys every morning? Whatever the excuse is, it should be good. Especially if they let Rimshot come up with the excuse.

Personally, I don't believe Slick Willy will let this happen.

I think both Klintons realize how badly OBozo has f'ed up the economy, and how vulnerable our international strategy is, that they would rather force OBozo off the top of the ticket and run for POTUS in 2012 or wait for him to be slain on the vine with both Houses run by the GOP (Rinos or not).

Kind of like an indelible stain on a dress.

They would probably hold Pennsylvania with Clinton on the ticket. Might help them in Ohio too.
