I always thought that Bush Sr did a great job with that war and I am still convinced he did. He minimized US soldiers life and cost $$$ to this country, while winning a resounding victory. It was a proud time to be Republican and American.

The Kurds might disagree with that assessment. Poppy Bush sold their asses down the river after encouraging them to rise up against Saddam, and when we had Saddam on the ropes, the drive to Baghdad was halted, and that sonuvbitch lived to fight another day, and a lot of innocent blood was shed due to the failure of Bush I to fully excise the tumor that was Saddam Hussein. Just like GWB, Poppy Bush left the job undone. In GWB's case, he knocked out one of the three legs of that "Axis of Evil" (i.e., Iraq) and left Iran free to do WTF they wanted, and took North Korea off the list of terrorist supporting nations in October 2008.

Both internationally and domestically, the Bushes have proven themselves to be marginally functional dipsh*ts, and there is little 'conservative' about them, they are the latter day personifications of the Rockefeller Wing of the GOP.

Wrong sect. It was the Shi'ites who were encouraged to rebel, then abandoned.

I totally agree. They are the personification of the Rockefeller wing. And from the moment GHWB got in...he got rid of every Reaganite. And when GWB got in he and Rove systematically attacked and undermined all real conservatives in the states and for congress...an ideological war that the msm and rinos were complicit with.

You may be one of the few who remember our "airlift" to the Kurds, after the war, when they rose up against the Saddam forces, believing we would support them. We left them hanging in the wind to be slaughtered and dying.

Finally Bush relented enough to send over C-130's and drop pallets of food and water on isolated Kurd settlements. I vividly recall seeing tape of these skids crashing to the ground, landing on people's houses, and people, for that matter. It was a freaking disaster of an operation, and an international embarrassment.

This was the time when they began the "no fly zones" incidentally, which later turned out to mean little enough

No, Bush cobbled together a coalition of collective security forces, in the vacuum of the recently collapsed USSR when we stood unchallenged in the world, and that was the easy part. The aftermath was a mess and Bush was nothing to be proud of.

And that Rockefeller wing flies out of the internationalists such as Soros to Rothchilds and a multitude of international organizations that do not want an exceptional USA at this time.

mkjessup calls the Bush's “marginally functional dipsh*ts”.

Perhaps mkjessup needs to read her history book since we did not have any mandate to go into Baghdad in ‘92 and get Saddam or to protect the Kurds in the north (as we did in Libya). mkjessup and the Left are unhappy that GWB went into Baghdad in 2004 probably, and we did have a mandate for that. mkjessup has to get her act together or she will always sound like a fool.
