Federal prosecutors want home run king Barry Bonds to spend the next few seasons in prison.

In court papers filed late Thursday, government lawyers urged a federal judge to sentence Bonds to 15 months in prison for his conviction of obstructing justice by providing evasive testimony to a federal grand jury probing the BALCO steroids scandal in December 2003. Prosecutors called Bonds' denials of ever using performance enhancing drugs "patently false."

"Bonds' actions were the product of a calculated plan to obfuscate and distract the grand jury from its role in getting to the truth in the BALCO inquiry," prosecutors wrote.

What if Bonds just pulled a Corzine and said he didn’t think it was a lie?? I guess that only works for Democrats who are friends of the One.......

I’m no fan of Barry Bonds, but he didn’t hurt anyone but himself. He’s not a threat to society. This is a waste of government resources.

It appears to me some federal prosecutors should be jailed.

Seems like we were all up in arms when The Arkansas Love Machine did something similar.

What? Bonds doing that? Or the fact that Corzine is getting away with it?

Governments are great at distractions, and punishing the wrong people. Our officers of our government of the court must be getting worried, for now they come for the Bond? When the people put their Bond down, and government is allowed to cash in on the Bond, the people will have lost their Bond. Why take down the Bond? Governments are great at distractions.

I think that’s a Sports Entertainer versus Leader Of The Free World sort of thing.

If he played basketball, bam would pardon him. But alas. He hit white things with a stick. Unlike the new black panthers who only THREATENED to hit white things with a stick.

I’m not a Barry Bonds fan, but I’ll be the first to buy a “Free Barry Bonds” T-Shirt if they go through with this.

Why is the government involved in this at all?

It's ok for men to stick their penises into other mens butts and spread an incurable costly disease, to set up homosexual recruitment camps in schools, for pharmacies to sell abortion drugs to teenage skanks, but god forbid an athlete takes an enhancement drug. Makes you wonder why we have government.

What a flaming pile of crap!
About all of this administration should be in jail and about 75% of congress, but we're worried about Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens.

What a sad joke this country has become.
