The largest civil rights group in America, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), is petitioning the UN over what it sees as a concerted efforted to disenfranchise black and Latino voters ahead of next year's presidential election.

The organisation will this week present evidence to the UN high commissioner on human rights of what it contends is a conscious attempt to "block the vote" on the part of state legislatures across the US. Next March the NAACP will send a delegation of legal experts to Geneva to enlist the support of the UN human rights council.

The NAACP contends that the America in the throes of a consciously conceived and orchestrated move to strip black and other ethnic minority groups of the right to vote. William Barber, a member of the association's national board, said it was the "most vicious, co-ordinated and sinister attack to narrow participation in our democracy since the early 20th century".

In its report, Defending Democracy: Confronting Modern Barriers to Voting Rights in America, the NAACP explores the voter supression measures taking place particularly in southern and western states.

Fourteen states have passed a total of 25 measures that will unfairly restrict the right to vote, among black and Hispanic voters in particular.

If illegals are allowed to vote, I want in.

I’m sure President Perry could use my vote.

They’re so worthless, they have to continue trying to get re-validated. Surprised they didn’t put in for a Nobel. The fear is that the CP thing will come apart and they will have to seek gainful employment.... or stand in line.

No kidding. Just use any search engine and “NAACP voter fraud” and a bunch of hits come up. Especially Mississippi.
Bet none of the MSM do that.

Can't we just have the UN declare us a President?
Couldn't the UN then place the NAAAAACCPCPCPC as our congress?
Aren't each of these funded with MY money?
Shouldn't we send them both packing to, say, PahKeeStan?

Get Out The Vote in 2012!!!

Perhaps they’ll use that video of Black Panthers intimidating white voters as evidence in this case.

NAACP should hold a press conference, and trot a bunch of disenfranchised people onto the stage who don't have a valid ID.

Oh, wait. Then, the question would be, "Why don't you have a valid ID?"

Maybe they should have a drive to ensure all their automatic voters have a valid ID.

Oh, wait. That would be honest and responsible. Forget that, too.

The Prisoner's Coalition of Lifers and We Who Vote for the Deceased have joined hands in demanding less restrictive voting laws. Said Marple Glazer, past president of Ghost Voters:

“If a politician can go into prison, a politician should be able to come from the prison!”.

Cry me a river NAACP. You're just ticked that the voting loopholes that, historically, have heavily favored Democrats are finally being closed down.

WTF?

How does showing ID "disenfranchise" ANYONE?

DOn't gimme the crap about "inconvienience of obtaining the ID"....IF you're a citizen, and can prove residency in the District you are to vote in, you are fine. If you can't produce those proofs, YOU DON'T VOTE, PERIOD.

Playing on black paranoia to boost the turnout for Obama next year. It’s how Johnny Cochran got O.J. off, and why most black Americans were delighted when O.J. was found “not guilty.” Remember, the NAACP spent $11 million on ads just before the 2000 election trying to make Bush somehow to blame for the murder of James Byrd because he didn’t support a “hate crimes” law (which was mainly designed to benefit gays).

NAACP warns black and Hispanic Americans could lose right to vote

That is 100% correct when taken out of context, and it is a good thing when looked at in context. Fictional black voters and fictional Hispanic voters will have more trouble voting when a valid ID is required to vote. Non-citizen illegal aliens will have more trouble voting if they are required to prove their identity through a valid ID. They're still Americans, but they're Americans from south of the Rio Grande (not US citizens). They should not be voting, and under any sensible election laws they will lose their "right" to vote - because they have no legal right to vote.

UKGuardian, yes we did pass laws to keep ILLEGALS (from Mexico, the UK (yes, that means I do not want David Beckham or Victoria to vote here!), or ANYPLACE ELSE who is not an AMERICAN CITIZEN.

If you don't like our laws -- STICK IT WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE!!!!

NO ONE has the right to vote MORE THAN ONCE and that includes ALL BLACKS, WHITES, GREENS, PURPLES, BROWNS.

NO ILLEGAL has the right to vote ANY TIME.

What’s your problem with that?
Afraid your ‘preferences’ won’t get enough votes you frickin’ hypocrites?
