Perry Camp Denies Leaking Cain Harassment Story, Fingers Romney Campaign
National Journal ^ | Updated: November 2, 2011 | 6:13 p.m.

A spokesman for Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s campaign is adamantly denying that members of the GOP presidential candidate's staff leaked a story has swamped Herman Cain's campaign this week. Instead, the Perry camp is pointing a finger at the campaign of another rival Republican, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, as a possible source of the report about the sexual-harassment charges levelled a decade ago against Cain by female subordinates at the National Restaurant Association.

Who gives a damn which campaign or group is behind it? It is politics. Cain had every chance to set the record straight and let the air clear. He failed at it pathetically, and now has gone on record being in the gutter accusing rival campaigns.

He is done. Stick a fork.

Not for the accusations, but for his buffoonish handling of the issue.

This is out of control with all of the finger pointing.
Obama must be laughing his narrow *** off.

well I don’t believe Perry himself had anything to do with this nonsense. It’s a fact that Cain himself shot himself in the foot in regard to the rock “issue”. I continue to be a Cain supporter but these anti-Perry zealots are wasting their ammo. Perry is over. You don’t have to atack him any more because he is done.

Herman Cain is our last refuge against Romney. He must do better than the angry response I just saw on Youtube. He doesn’t help himself by losing his cool and getting angry. If he can’t deal with this mini-crisis then he isn’t ready. If that is the case then we have no candidate and Romney wins. So Cain better get his act together fast.

“In the end, it’s going to be Romney”.

I absolutely agree, Dw...and so does Bret B’s panel. As Kraut just said, Mittens is floating above it all as the other candidates make a mess of their campaigns.

If this is true that Mitt will come out on top, it’s going to be a depressing election year. How exciting it would be to work for a real Conservative.

I usually get very involved in the grassroots efforts.
Maybe not this time....

The rats must be laughing their tails off over this.

No, they were probably were saving it!

And why blame Perry? What’s his evidence? Why would he blame a guy who’s at about 6% in the polls?

He’s sure not going to blame Romney, for obvious reasons.

Now, if I was thinking outside the box, and I was thinking it was Romney, and I was thinking that Perry’s people knew it was Romney, I MIGHT accuse Perry, knowing that the Perry people would finger Romney for me. Then I issue my heartfelt apologies to Perry, Perry accepts, and Mitt stands there like a deer in the headlights while the MSM jackals pummel him. Cain 1, Perry 1, Romney 0.

However this goes from here, the election is a long time away. A week is a year in politics, as they say.

Because both Cain and Bachmann are hoping that at least they can be Romney’s running mate if they don’t get the nomination. When was the last time Bachmann said anything bad, to any consequence, about Romney? Cain said that he would consider being Romney’s running mate.

I do no, but I would be looking into the background of the lawyer for $35,000 gal. It seem to me he the one that has the most to gain.

This frenzy will only help Herman Cain. Whoever the culprit is, Perry or Romney, he better be squeaky clean, and that isn’t the case.

and having Mark Bloch accuse the Perry campaign of doing this on FNC an hour ago...isn’t such great strategy either.

How long does it take to meet with advisors, develop a competent rapid response team and “get your act together” by having clear and concise answers. Come on Herman. This isn’t rocket science.

So, in your world, the left-wing media and Leftists go on smear campaign, and you buy it hook line and sinker? You’re the exact type wimp the MSM and Leftists hope will buy this type of crap.

You make their work far too easy. Thank G-d there are more of us than you. Pathetic!

In this news cycle, that’s an eternity. I have NO DOUBT that they thought they had pulled it off.
