TIME Poll: Obama Still Ahead of GOP Rivals, Voters Side With Dems on Taxes
Yahoo News ^ | 10/14/11 | By ALEX ALTMAN

Despite sweeping pessimism about the nation's fortunes and his own sliding approval ratings, President Obama leads potential Republican rivals Mitt Romney and Rick Perry in hypothetical general-election match-ups, according to a new TIME poll. Obama leads Romney, the former Massachusetts governor who sits atop the GOP presidential field, 46% to 43% among likely voters. The President has opened a double-digit lead over Perry, 50% to 38%, highlighting concerns percolating through the GOP that the Texas governor would face a steep uphill climb should he capture the nomination. Obama also boasts a 49% to 37% edge over businessman Herman Cain, whose strong Tea Party support has propelled him toward the top of Republican ranks in recent weeks.

i saw this in the morning and looked at the actual poll questions/data and laughed:

1) no where do they mention the % of GOP, Indies or rats that make up the 1001 people polled...

2) the question answers are just broken down into generic % rather than % of GOP, Indies, rats...

and my favorite...

3) the poll asked almost a half dozen questions about the Tea Party yet i did not see a single question being asked about the smelly hippy squatters infesting wall street..

This is ridiculous! What crap! Obama does not hold anything near these leads! L.O.L.!

And what gives you this confidence that Obama couldn't be leading these polls? 47% of the public pays no taxes, of course most of those people support raising them even higher since it doesn't effect them. 48.5% of American households are now dependent on government handouts of one form or another - of course most of those people are going to support the candidate (Obama) who promises to either keep the gravy train in place or even raise the amount of freebies they get.

The bloated social welfare state is precisely what Democrats have always wanted - and now additional people will rely on government for their healthcare. Think many of those people are going to vote for a candidate who threatens to curtail that system once it's in place?

Rasmussen's poll of likely voters has Hussein at 47% this morning. I see no evidence Americans are ready to curtail the social welfare state, and it looks to me like 45-50% of US voters will in fact vote for Obama no matter what. So yeah, he could easily be leading in these polls.

It seems to be...other polls show the President trailing Romney and Cain.

I had a fifteen minute wait at the dentist on Wednesday, and about all they had on the table was Time and People.

It used to be that maybe in an issue of Time there was one readable article, but no longer. I went through several issues and found NOTHING that I could stomach reading.

And I used to think that People was bad, but it is incredibly worse than ever.

It’s not just the ideology. I don’t see how even a liberal can continue subscribing to Time.

When you see Time magazine you know automatically to dimiss the result of anything they say. All the reliable polls say that Obuggery is toast.

"Based on a poll of 12 likely-to-vote Democrats and 1 likely-to-vote Republican..."

Okay, that was my lead-in.

to be clear the fascists are capable of “arranging” an election like they’ve done so many times IMO only.....but mostly the SCM would do anything, make up anything to support their manchurian candidate...

No, it’s not ridiculous. Class warfare is effective, that is why they do it. The proposed millionaire tax is a wedge issue to put the GOP on the defensive.

I don’t see how even a liberal can continue subscribing to Time.

I have two liberal Democrat neighbors, and we pick up each other's mail during vacations. So I see their copies of TIME and Newsweek, and they see my copies of American Spectator, National Review, and Weekly Standard.

Too many conservatives are overconfident about defeating Obama. I believe the election is a tossup +/- 3%

This BS push polling is going to get a lot worse from here on in. They are desperate to influence opinion. Zero’s position is getting precarious and they all know it.

Expect these polls and so called analysis’s that accompany them to get more and more outrageous.
