Yes, but there were also reports that she was roughed up and struck by the police to get her to agree with their theory. Not proven, of course and the police have now sued her for slander so I guess that will be part of another trial to come.
At the same time buried in all of this there were FOUR young women living in the apartment. One was home when the guy broke in to murder and rape her. The other three weren't. If two had been there they'd both been murdered and raped. if three, the same, and if four this'd be a Richard Speck type case and there'd be italians lining up behind the killer simply because he managed to bed four women in one evening.
To put it bluntly Italy is not your normal place and hasn't been since the days before the Diet of Worms, and the Guelphs and Ghibellines took over more or less.
If you have evidence of her guilt, by all means contact the Italian judge handling her case and inform him of your findings.

Yeah....she did accuse a completely innocent man of doing it, and she admitted that SHE did it.
Now there’s questions to just how much she was involved in it but I’d bet big bucks she was there when it happened, she cheered it on.
You don’t go accusing innocent people nor do you confess to doing a crime you had nothing to do with if you are pristine innocent.
I think the hanger-on committed the actual murder, with help from her Italian boyfriend. I think Amanda, high on drugs like she was, cheered it on, maybe set up her roommate.
But the way those investigators collected that evidence and that very questionable prosecutor really did not a good case make.
Plus the Italians, they get emotional. couple of years ago they hated Amanda Knox, wanted her hung in public. This year she’s their precious darling.
Knox spent four years in jail, she was involved in that murder somehow though I really don’t think she actually did the cutting, it was a very badly prosecuted and investigated case....Amanda Knox is lucky. She should do something good for mankind as thanks to God.

Hmm ~ changing her story ~ as I understand it here command of italian wasn’t that great at the time ~ but changing your story doesn’t mean anything if there’s NO EVIDENCE.

Police coerce false confessions all the time. People respond in funny ways when the state brings their full power to bear on you in a tiny room.
Last thing the school, or the city, need is a reputation for prosecuting students on trumped up charges based on flimsy evidence.

Plus she admitted, eventually, to being in the apartment the night of the murder when she originally denied it.
She accused an innocent man....awful, awful thing. She had no reason to do that but to cast aspersions away from her.
Those all jumping up and down and cheering.....sheesh...slow down. This child is NOT innocent.
So what is just compensation for an individual who has spent the last 4 1/2 years in prison for a crime they did not commit? Or to cover the legal expenses in their defense, or air fare and hotel expenses of the family members who continuously flew to Italy to keep abreast of the kangaroo trial? And the lost wages of the family members who flew there?
Why do you begrudge her that?
I would say she was being interrogated fiercely and she was frightened. 18 years old and just starting college in a country far away from home.
My daughter would fall apart in that situation! By blaming someone else, yes you can say what a stupid move. But, imagine what she went through at such a young age.
Finally she is coming home and I know she deserves to come home. There wasn’t any evidence pointing to her at all.

My Italian ex-MIL differentiated between Italians and "whites" every day. And she was first generation American from Pittsburgh.
I wonder if her parents and her very expensive PR team have succeeded in banning the Lifetime movie that came out last February and showed Amanda as a definite player in the entire rape and murder. It was entitled “Amanda Knox— Murder on Trial in Italy.” There was a lawsuit by the Knoxes to keep it from appearing originally, but the movie was released and shown anyway.
Now I’m searching for it and the first three sites I went to said “No longer available.”
