Daniels asks conservatives to cut Perry some slack

Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels is asking fellow Republicans not to count out Rick Perry.

Daniels says it's too early for what he calls "last rites" over the Perry campaign, and he notes that Perry hasn't been in the race for very long.

Daniels says people ought to cut Perry some slack and give him a little time.

Daniels also says he's worried that the party's nominee will end up playing it safe in light of President Barack Obama's political weakness, and merely campaign as a default option to Obama's re-election.

Now, back to the topic at hand...It is a false choice to say it is Perry, Romney or Obama.

My suggestion for the GOP is run the party from a city other than DC for a change. No more pundits, no more analysts.

It’s over now. There’s no more money, and no more time - there is just people and the US homeland with about 1200 years of untapped energy reserves we aren’t willing to tap.

We have what we need to get ourselves out of this hole, but Romnoid is a Scott Brown Republican, and Perro wants us to follow him with our hearts, and not our heads.

Not this time. Let Obama wreck it completely if you have to. If that’s what it takes, then bring it all down.

However strong his total record is, his heart and head may not be in this race.

If his heart and head aren't in this race, then he needs to get out, posthaste. We don't need another Fred Thompson muddying up the waters...

You mean Herman Cain? A guy who has zero experience in governing is not going to be the Republican nominee. He is a nice guy, conservative, good orator, but has zero experience in governing. I do not think the majority of Republicans are that dumb to nominate someone who is a good orator but has no experience in governing.

In a very short time, Perry has exposed himself as someone who promoted liberal polices, encourages illegal immigration while constantly blaming the fed, and then is unable to defend himself, while in the process, stumbles incoherently, complete with animated expressions.

Americans will not elect another Bush and Perry is basically a mirror image. Even his supporters use the same exact tactics the Bush crowd used.

And that is exactly WHY he will win. Tea Partiers are fed up with career politicians and as the Romneybots are so fond of saying this country needs someone with business experience.

The Republicans are SMART enough to avoid the status quo types like Perry.

Let's have some perspective: If not Perry, it's Romney and if it's Romney, it's Obama. Yes, it is that simple.

Just because you might support Perry, certainly does not mean, "It's Perry or Obama".

Most Americans are able to see these same exact Bush tactics all over again.

Let us wait and see who will win the primaries. You think it is Cain, I think it is Perry or Romney and I hate the thought that Romney would possibly be the Republican nominee.

I am done with voting for the "most viable", the lesser of the evils, the one the Republican Good-Ole-Boys club chooses.

If you think that a Rhino will turn the country around, you are delusional. It will be like Bush all over again. We will still proceed towards socialism, one world government, and open borders, albeit at a somewhat slower pace. When the economy doesn't rebound, then they will then have a Republican to blame it on, and the next go-around we will be back to electing a Democrat who promises "change".

This may be our last chance to fix America before she dies. I want to place my bet (and my contributions) on a real conservative and then put a little faith in God that He will see that candidate through. To some that may sound naive, but that's what the Tea Party Movement is all about!
