WASHINGTON-- First Lady Michelle Obama is expected Thursday to announce headway in her drive to have restaurants reduce portion sizes, part of her "Let's Move' campaign against obesity.
"The Childhood Obesity Task Force Report"--commissioned as part of Mrs. Obama's "Let's Move" project, "specifically calls on restaurants to, "consider their portion sizes, improve children's menus, and make healthy options the default choice whenever possible." below, from White House....

Thursday, September 15 11:45 AM - First Lady Michelle Obama will make a major Let's Move! announcement related to providing healthier choices and greater variety for families in restaurants - a critical piece of ending the epidemic of childhood obesity in a generation. One of every two dollars spent on food is spent in restaurants, and over one-third of calories consumed in America are eaten at restaurants. The Childhood Obesity Task Force Report specifically calls on restaurants to, "consider their portion sizes, improve children's menus, and make healthy options the default choice whenever possible." This event will be held in Hyattsville, MD and space is limited.

Take a look in the grocery store as the price stays the same but the packages get smaller. I expect restaurants will be following suit with the Federal Reserve printing money as fast as possible. Pretty soon the dollar menu french fries will be a single french fry.

Considering the drastic increase in the cost of food caused by her husband's anti-business policies, I'm sure restaurants are already reducing portion size rather than increasing menu prices. When portion sizes are reduced, Michelle will be there to take credit.

Love how unladylike she looks next to the lovely ladies in the pictures. Rolling her shoulders and slumping instead of standing ramrod straight like those who are meant to be followed and admired.

Restaurants have already done this because of her genius husband's economic policies. We were at Damons the other night and ordered our usual dinners. We noticed the prices were up a little, but accepted it and ordered anyway. That's what happens in a recession. However, we were very disappointed when our meals arrived as the portions were noticeably smaller. Thanks obama!
