Some Of Sarah Palin's Ideas Cross The Political Divide
The New York Times ^ | 9/9/2011 | Anand Girinharadas

CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS — Let us begin by confessing that, if Sarah Palin surfaced to say something intelligent and wise and fresh about the present American condition, many of us would fail to hear it.

That is not how we’re primed to see Ms. Palin. A pugnacious Tea Partyer? Sure. A woman of the people? Yup. A Mama Grizzly? You betcha.

But something curious happened when Ms. Palin strode onto the stage last weekend at a Tea Party event in Indianola, Iowa. Along with her familiar and predictable swipes at President Barack Obama and the “far left,” she delivered a devastating indictment of the entire U.S. political establishment — left, right and center — and pointed toward a way of transcending the presently unbridgeable political divide.

Yeah, but that “brothers and sisters” talk makes me want to puke. I understand that’s how filthy, digusting, commie union drones talk, but it is still hurl-inducing.

Sarah is a true populist politician and may, if she feels it necessary, run as a third party candidate.
How many of you out there are sympathetic to the big guy/little guy message she expounds?”

Populism, whether from the left or the right, is ultimately a disgraceful political philosophy. Even rightist populism is not the same as conservatism, though obviously there is some overlap.

If Palin is truly a populist, then her rightful home is third party/independent, not the GOP. I hope that is not what is going on here, but I have had some recent concerns that maybe it is.....

Well, she said she wouldn’t. I doubt it.

Why do that when she can enter now as GOP?

The New York Times doesn’t care one bit about Sarah Palin.

They want people to focus on things other than Obama. The article is designed to give independents doubts about Republicans and divide the party.

Everything Sarah said is absolutely correct and that is why we are removing the permanent political class of Republicans from Washington. Here in Indiana, Richard Lugar is next.

I’ve always hate unions. Not just the leaders. The whole concept. That brother and sister crap makes me ill. I’m not against someone pandering to those loafing fools, but it’s hard to watch.

I thought it was Trump that said he would’nt.Then said he would.I am not sure what Palin’s official say is on running third party?I think now would be the time to just jump in the pool water even if it’s cold, already. But I don’t know why I have a gut feeling Perry may pick her as VP, energy secretary and while that may seem not good enough to some JUST THINK what she could do!I think Perry is more rogue than people realize. He has the suavay kickin boots to kick em both right in.

Do you have any specific reason or evidence to make such a definitive statement?

One thing that can be said about Palin is that she is a loyal Republican.

Of that I have no doubt...

Yeah me too and I also don’t judge those that do the union things either ya gotta do what ya gotta do but it makes me sick.I have seen teachers unions divide an entire town and cause families to fight.I guess if someone guarantees you a good paycheck and bennies and in the WI case 100% tax funded health care.Someone would wear any color shirt and ribbon and be a mob cult sorority. One thing I have seen that is frightening is an old friend that is union still backing Obama and I could just tell they hated doing it.

I never heard it when I was in the AFL-CIO and I haven't heard it out of any of the union FReepers. Maybe in liberal areas but not in the real world.

Because her party has agitated for the wholesale deregulation of money in politics and the unshackling of lobbyists, these will be heard in some quarters as sacrilegious words.

Is he saying that she is actually a supporter of Campaign Finance Reform, or that she would oppose the Citizen's United Ruling? Does he really think she opposes deregulation of money in politics? Does any conservative really think that prohibiting people and businesses from spending their own moeny to advocate for what they believe in is a bad thing that we need to stop?

Strangely, she was saying things that liberals might like, if not for Ms. Palin’s having said them.

Did he listen to the same speech I did? Do liberals really believe in individual freedom?

I guess time will tell. Trump is a chump. He was amusing when he first started talking trash about Obama. That was all he did.

Obama produced the fake BC. Instead of questioning the validity of the document, he declared a win and folded like a cheap suit. Now what kind of scam was that? The Chinese were probably laughing their butts off at the tough talker. LOL

Trump did say he wouldn’t run 3rd party. Then he said if he didn’t approve of who we choose, he might run.

Talk about a flip flopper. LOL

and may, if she feels it necessary, run as a third party candidate.

Only if you think she was lying in Iowa when she said she could support several of the republican candidates, including Romney and Perry, if they ended up our nominee, and that her philosophy was "ABO- Anybody But Obama".

Or more exactly, lest someone misunderstand, that she would VOTE FOR; I’m not positive she said she would “support” them, but obviously she wouldn’t vote for them if she ran as a 3rd-party candidate.

You might have noticed that its OK for St Rick to give tax breaks and other incentives to green energy but anyone else who does it is a lying liberal greentard.
