She will come up with a similar excuse for not running, resembling her reason for quitting her Gubernatorial position.

Because left-wing hacks are flooding the courts with allegations of election law violations?

Is that happenning?

What a title. Why the blank do we want 4 more years of Obama? I thought the point is to get rid of Obama.

Your rationale is far too complex. She will likely use her family as the main reason, which was her initial reason in 2009. The “legal” issues came up later and you know it.

This horse is dead. She quit, plain and simple. No other explanation or extraneous detail necessary. Her negative public image has been imprinted in stone.

Palin has successfully tied “Perry” and “crony-capitalist” together. She is way above his and your pay grade.

Notice you didn’t even attempt to refute the facts I presented.

Your oil company bosses are overpaying you.

If she jumps in and becomes the nominee, I will go out and vote for her in the General. I am NOT the kind that sits out any election. No way, no hell! Especially, with Barack the Marxist on the ticket in 2012.

I am with you. The scenario I fear is that Palin sits this one out, Perry becomes Nominee. But, Palin or Palinistas backstab our Noiminee to keep Palin alive for 2016. Hope that won’t happen. But, that is the question I am raising.

Gov. Palin is not going to endorse any of them. Certainly not the crony capitalist king Rick Perry.

But he still whines and begs......

This column by Rubin illustrates perfectly why Palin will wipe the floor with Perry and any of the other candidates.

You got to admit that she is playing this election like a mean game of Texas Hold'em. That little speech she made the other day was like her coyly dropping the 10 of spades so everybody can have a peak at what's in her hand.

[H]er family...was her initial reason in 2009.

Interesting. I had not heard that before. Do you have a link?

No, I don't.

Conversely, if Perry is the nominee, I will vote for him.

Or whoever is the nominee. At that point, the overriding concern is to defeat Obama.

Public schools are just awesome.

Oh, you're a fine one to lecture.

It's "Public schools is just awesome."

*ducking*

That said, the "might want to sent" looks to me like one of those super-stealth typos that slipped past a (or multiple) proofreader. I've seen it happen enough to give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

I'm an Anybody But Obama Voter. Not a popular position here on FR, but the Republican Nominee gets my Vote.

I know many people in Texas who love Perry. I'm more of a Palin fan myself, but Perry has some good points. Time will tell, I saw him speak in New Orleans a few months ago and he did great. I learn more about him on FR every day, (good and bad), but I know that he isn't Romney and that means a lot to me.

That being said, I think your trial balloon “Palinista” conspiracy theory is ridiculous. Is there such a thing as a “Perryista”?

Agree that there is no doubt (at least in my mind!) that Palin is running. The 2 speeches this weekend were very carefully and strategically crafted. The Iowa speech revitalized her political raison d’etre, namely running against good ol’ boy corruption. It’s been the cornerstone of her entire political career. Strategically, the Iowa speech gave her a pathway to differentiate herself from the crowd and even “establishment” types like Bill Kristol and the WSJ were trumpeting the need for GOP to emphasize the “crony capitalism” mantra. Also, Saturday provided not so much a “slam” on Perry, but an opening she can exploit.

Today’s speech was, as one MSMer snarkily observed, Palin “running for President of the Tea Party”. While meant as a slam to Palin, it was actually pretty accurate. She was obviously looking to solidify herself as the “leader” of the TP (if a “leaderless” movement can have a leader). Again, a reminder to the TP faithful that she - and not Perry and certainly not Mitt - embodied the true goals and aspirations of the TP.

Two very important and strategically crafted speeches. She’s, as others have observed, is working to shape the battlefield - both with her own actions and those of the other candidates. To wit, she’s watched media/establishment favorites like Daniels and Pawlenty disappear, and the “articulate female conservative” (ie Bachmann) seems to be on campaign life-support tonight. And, SP has done all this without spending $, running ads, etc.

Fair enough. Too much George Bush behind the Perry mask IMHO: same Texas twang, compassionate conservatism perhaps (= Big Govt Statism with an "R"), soft on illegal immigration, touting "technology" to secure the border (been there, blew hundreds of millions of a failed program).

Questions I'd like to hear Perry (and other candidates) answer:

1) Once in office, will you remove the White House fence and secure it with technology?
2) If being an "undocumented" alien in TX doesn't get you deported but can get you in-state tuition, what other equivalent crimes are OK with you?
3) If an illegal alien proven to have illegally entered the US via the un-fenced Southern Border during your Presidency commits a violent felony, should you and your Administration be held criminally neglect for not doing EVERYthing possible to secure the border and homeland?
4) Aside from "technology" what other plans do you have for securing the border - more boots on the ground, other...?
5) What are your plans, nationally, for the ~20M illegals here already - if not deportation, then... ignore them, amnesty?
6) If no punishment for illegal aliens, any plans to punish their employers - or amnesty for them too?
7) Once the CiC, what are your planned ROE for US Troops in the field - no change or take the gloves off?
8) Would you follow through with an aggressive investigation and prosecution of ANYone involved in 'Fast and Furious' or drop it as new Administrations don't investigate their predecessors - go along and get along?
9) Would you advocate/sign legislation making 'Constitutional Carry' (no permit to open/conceal carry) the law of the entire US - or subjugate the 2nd to the 10th?
10) Any plans to de-fund, eliminate and/or ignore to the point of irrelevancy any Federal agencies - which ones?
