Networks hot for Casey (Anthony) Lawyer
NY Post ^ | 7/24/11

Casey Anthony's lawyer, Jose Baez, has been living like a king in New York City, eating steak dinners with Matt Lauer and sleeping at the Mandarin Oriental -- while network reps jostle to sign him as a legal eagle to eventually score the big interview.

"Everyone is trying to buy him," an industry source told us.

"He's the key to Casey Anthony."

The Post reported that network reps met with Baez a week after the verdict, and he made it clear that Anthony would not be making TV appearances for six to nine months.

So the networks are dangling a legal-analyst position in front of Baez to get access to Anthony when she's ready to talk.

"He wants to be the next big talking head," a source said.

"They need him down the road to score an interview with Casey when she's less radioactive."

Baez could team up with his good friend Geraldo, and they could take the Puerto Rican Duo on tour (at least that would get Geraldo off of FoxNews). Oh well, I can dream ...

Yes. When Casey is "less radioactive" the networks can fatten their ratings with a clear conscience.

sleazy bastard - it should not be legal to smear someone else in a trial and not be held liable.

The morbid truth is this, if it bleeds it leads. The sellers of advertising time for commercials are probably having a massive amount of OT right now.

I swear that if and when it does go on TV you won’t get more than five minutes between commercials. Its not the story, its about selling ad time for consumers who will be drawn to this because they are in a rage, and angry people will probably just sit there and allow themselves to be bombarded with advertising.

I wonder when she will be less radioactive? She will never tell the truth and no one would believe anything she said anyway.

I do wonder how many lies she has already told to the lawyers who now have to baby sit her?

Hope he refrains - once he’s a network mandarin - from making such classy references as “cutting the cheese.”

Let’s hope that won’t work for the networks.

You're probably right, but what can she say that isn't a lie? People might shut it off the minute she starts lying.

>>> the networks are dangling a legal-analyst position in front of Baez

Just to play devil’s advocate, I can see that the networks might actually want him as a legal commentator.

He certainly made monkeys out of all the current network legal commentators who “knew” he could never win his case. All their high-paid analysis went down the drain. A network news division chief might consider that and decide it’s time for fresh thinking.

She'll be a one and done....he's got ONE chance, the first interview, to make some $$ for her ( and then for him).after that..the next one ( if there is a second one)will be just the same old, same old..except it will be harder on her, as the interviewer will feel the necessity to really push her hard..

There were reports that in order to get the big $$..the networks want her to take a polygraph..

Baez will probably get a legal-analyst position on tv out of this.

Well, yes, if outright lying and libeling is making a monkey out of people, than Baez and Anthony should be at the top of the monkey bar.

Me, I’ve got other ways of viewing liars, murderesses and smear-artists.
