Bachmann Releases Doctor's Note on Migraines as Pawlenty Says Candidates Must Be Able 'To Do All of the Job, All of the Time' ABC News' Matthew Jaffe (@matthewbjaffe) reports from Indianola, Iowa: When Republican presidential candidates Michele Bachmann and Tim Pawlenty descended on Iowa today, both faced questions about whether or not Bachmann's migraines would impede her from doing the job of president. Meanwhile, Bachmann issued a letter from the Attending Physician of the U.S. Congress arguing that Bachmann's migraines occur "infrequently and have known trigger factors of which you are aware and know how to avoid." The letter, from the Dr. Brian Monahan, the top doctor for Congress, is addressed to Bachmann and reads: "When you do have a migraine, you are able to control it well with as-needed sumatriptan and odanestron. It has not been necessary for you to take daily scheduled medications to manage thi condition." Monahan further clarifies that Bachmann has "not needed medical attention" from his office regarding her migraines "with the use of the above mentioned commonly used therapies."

Many people who suffer from migraines... know their own trigger factors. For example, red wine, hard cheeses/hard meats can be one. Bright lights (even the sun) without sunglasses can be another. Low pressure fronts can be one as well. Some of the factors you can eliminate, some you can reduce, and some you can take medication (not narcotics) to prevent one.
For me, this puts the issue to rest. She knows her migraine triggers. She takes meds to abort the migraines. She does not take preventative meds, which tells me, as a migraine sufferer, ... her migraines DO NOT seriously affect her ability to function.

The issue isn’t weather the media will still make an issue (they might). But now, they risk looking “mean” in the eyes of the general public. Obviously the lefty crazies will hate her anyway, but the vast middle don’t like them to pile on for no reason (and some of them are migraine sufferers or have family/friends who are). It now looks like she’s not hiding anything. She has something lots of people have, and deal with, and it sounds like she lives with it without being incapacitated. At least that’s’ my take. We’ll see.

I support all tea party candidates,Bachmann,Perry,Cain and West and Palin if they run. My dream candidate is LTC West but I see no need to bash any tea party candidates in my support and wish that he would run. Obviously I do not take well to others bashing tea party candidates, is all.
