Attempted Barber Shop Robbery Turns Deadly in Detroit(MI)

DETROIT (WJBK) - Two guys walked in to a very busy Gents Barbershop at about 5:30 p.m. Friday on Whittier at Stratman on Detroit's east side. One with a gun said, "You know what time it is."

What the two bad guys didn't know was two customers were legally carrying handguns.

A man in a chair getting a cut took advantage of pulling his gun under the cover of the smock.

When one bad guy said, "Why you stalling? Empty your pockets," he then fired a shot into the floor of the barber shop. That's when the customer in the chair opened fire and emptied his automatic clip containing multiple rounds.

Three children were also standing behind the barber chair. That same customer took his unarmed hand and swept the three children into a safe spot out of the way against the wall.

The end result was that none of the customers or children were hurt. One bad guy was killed and the other ran off during the shooting.

Police say the deceased has a long rap sheet. He was currently out on parole for an armed robbery conviction. They are still looking for a suspect that is described as a black male with scruffy hair between the ages of 22 and 30. They say he is six feet tall with a thin build and was wearing a white tee shirt and blue shorts.

He had just vowed to start taking care of his children...

He was an aspiring rap artist...

(I've actually seen both of these in articles, BTW.)

He still will be voting in his precinct for the “One” thanks to absentee voting.

The up side for the deceased is he will have one less felony conviction on his rap sheet than he would have if he survived.

Look for the one with a brown stain in his crotch.

2. Did he have to KILL him?

Why, yes! This civic-minded customer was motivated to save the state of Michigan from having to spend all that money on this degenerate's court costs and incarceration.

Yeah it’s so nice to know that his parole officer was keeping such good tabs on this perp.

emptied his automatic clip containing multiple rounds.

Your right. Clips are not automatic. That’s what magazines are for, too contain more then one round.

How do you spell imbecile?

When looking down the barrel of a gun, it’s better to kill him before he kills you. Dead crooks can’t fire back.

No surprise. Detroit “news” reporters arents the smartest bunch. Once, I saw one newsbabe telling us we’d all die if we stayed outside in the cold. She pointed to the bank thermometer that read -3. The idiot didn’t know what the C meant. I saw this after shoevling snow for three hours then going for a bike ride.

Another breathlessly read the license number of the suspect vehicle and repeated the description several times. A blue Bonneville, Pontiac. A blue Bonneville, Pontiac.

Idiot, you’re in Motown, you should at least know the car brands.

” so it isn’t too likely that 20,001 would do so either”

But with 1 CCW law he has assumed room temp and will bother no one anymore.

I've always wondered HOW a barber makes a living. Even with non-stop customers, what are you going to have at the end of the day? $100-150 bucks? And you have overhead, chair rental, etc.

BTW, I'm totally ignorant on a "clip" versus "magazine". Please help me.

Firearm terminology can be quite confusing. Let’s go back to bows and arrows!;)

You don’t need a law for CCW, e.g. Vermont. Laws are (usually) about what you can’t do. It is a pity, though, that most states view CCW as a privilege and not a right, which is why you need to ask the government for permission, and pay a fee, to do it. But not in Vermont and also now a handful of other states.

I’ll bet a buck that the guy in the chair was a military veteran. Just a hunch.
