"...really how often do you do this?"

Perhaps eight or ten times in the last twenty years. It's been close to twenty years since I got a traffic ticket, and more than that since I had one "stick."

In the "running" incidents, either they've radared me going in the opposite direction on the road, and I saw their brake lights and roof lights go on and nailed it, or they've been parked on the side of the road and gunned me with their radar.

I've never tried to run one that came up on me from behind, but I've never been caught that way, either. First thing Dad taught me was to always, always watch the rear-view mirrors. I can pick out a Statey over a mile back in my rear-view on the highway... those cars just have a real distinctive outline, and way of moving down the road. Also, other cars have idnetifiable ways of reacting when a cop pulls up on them; it's quite easy to spot if you're looking for it.

And you can trust me that there is no "luck" involved. None. The badged felons are disadvantaged by trying to catch a much faster vehicle driven by someone with at least twice their I.Q. and ten times their common sense and driving skill. They are quite simply way overmatched. It's like a first grader trying to box with Mike Tyson in his prime. I'm just playing with them.

As they say, "the proof is in the pudding."
