Its not solid plate armor ... Its an exotic sandwiched layer of different materials that will in fact stop a tandem shape charge.
Very well made vehicle that is designed to keep moving out of the kill zone if attacked an hit.

I remember reading a story told by a WWII aircraft gunner on a B-24 stationed in North Africa. He said some officer told them their flak jackets would stop a .50 caliber bullet.
Being the doubting type, he and a friend took some of the inserts from the jackets, drove out to the desert on a jeep with a .50 caliber. They put the inserts up against some concrete blocks, got back and fired a single round.
He said they only found small pieces of the flak jacket inserts and the concrete blocks. They also said they could see the bullet bouncing across the desert for over a mile.
