Oh she surely screwed up when she put her hands on the cop...off duty or not...

And I bet she had been drinking all night...

I also bet her lawyer goes after the “off duty cop” angle...the “shouting and lunge at a customer” are previous to her putting her hands on the off duty cop...

*shrug*...really dont care either way...

Do you feel the need to defend public school teachers? IRS employees? DMV clerks?

Do you feel the need to defend the law? That's all that cops are sworn to uphold. Or do you endorse anarchy?

You’re assuming that the “officer” was “lawfully” “detaining” the other woman in the booth. I’m suggesting the possibility that he was assaulting her and her friend undertook self-defense on her behalf. Why do you say that’s not the case? I know through your eyes, a uniform behaves lawfully and an arrestee is guilty. The blind allegiance to the badge fosters suspicion and contempt by the public.

Good for you exercising your rights. I wish my city would make it easier to carry. As it is now, only cops and criminals have firearms.

With all the concerned law enforcement in Texas, you think the crime wouldn’t be sky high there.

I don’t know about who-hit-who-first or who was wrong and right, but I’ve seen enough ugly (disposition) drunk and spitting gals to get just a little entertainment out of that clip.

Yup, it's generally a mistake to go against the boys in blue regardless if what they are doing is completely and flagrantly against the law.

Was the person being accosted by the security guard arrested? (No) What were the charges? (none) That means that this woman is going to get a whole lot more than a punch in the nose and that it will come out of the American tax payers hide...all because some puffed up guy in a blue suit thinks he is above the law.

Hey—I totally agree with you. I wonder, though, whether the proportion of drunk/spitting gals to normal gals is higher or lower than the proportion of Officer You-Disrespect-Me-You-Disrespect-My-Department Rivieras to good cops is. Having a gun and handcuffs messes up their brains.

Do you feel the need to defend the law? That's all that cops are sworn to uphold.

Sometimes they fail.

Or do you endorse anarchy?

False dilemma.

That the second time I've gotten a "our way or the highway" choice from a cop.

"...When he is on the clock for the resturant....then he’s a security gaurd...not a “police officer”. ..."

Not in Texas he's not. He has all the powers as he normally does while directing traffic for the mall or protecting House of Pies.

As evidenced...this varies by jurisdiction...as I stated.
