Garth Brooks on Obama: I Love Him to Death; It's Got to Be Hell In That Office (Barf Alert!)

(CNSNews.com) - Grammy award-winning singer Garth Brooks told CNSNews.com that he "fully" supports President Barack Obama and that it must be "hell" serving as President of the United States.

Before his performance at the Points of Light Institute's ceremony honoring former President George H. W. Bush at the Kennedy Center on Monday, Brooks was asked if President Obama has lived up to his expectations.

"Yeah, I think what President Obama is finding out is all that we want to do, the system kind of doesn't allow the most powerful guy in the world to kind of do his job and I'm sure nobody's more frustrated than him to complete those promises that he did and I think he's trying his heart out. I love him to death and I fully support him and I just wish him well because it's got to be hell in that office," said Brooks.

Brooks' comments come as many celebrities who supported President Obama in the 2008 election including Matt Damon and Barbra Streisand have publicly expressed disappointment in President Obama.

Brooks, the closing act in the ceremony, also said the entire political system in America has him "concerned."

"The whole political system kind of has me concerned right now to tell you the truth --200 years old and we might think of about, you know, kind of kicking it in the ass a little bit. It just seems like we vote for things because they're Republican or Democratic," he told CNSNews.com.

"I think we should vote for them because they're right or wrong and we kind of have seemed to have fallen into that trap so that would be the one warning I would give all us," he said. "Put down where you're from and what flag you fly under and let's get to putting the best person, man or women in the office and let's start making some strides."

When asked for a specific example, Brooks said, "For me, it's if my guy didn't get in then I drag my feet for four years and we don't get anywhere and if my guy gets in, you drag your feet for four years and we don't get anywhere," he said. "We've got to stop doing that. Once we get there let's try to be four years down the road further than we were and let's see what happens. Let's all work together and that's kind of what this is all about tonight."

"I wonder if the 1930s Jews felt the same way about their fuhrer?"

yes not all but many did support Hitler.

It was even worse with Stalin those in the gulags wrote to Stalin telling him about corruption in government that Stalin did not know about. Then goes on and tells Stalin out much they love and support him.

*fixed*

The left is full of examples suicidal tendency's. One of my favorites right now is how homosexuals support Islam.

So, his main talent may be *selecting* good songs. He is clearly a dolt in the political arena. And a family-abandoning creep as well. Bob

What’s the problem here? He can like anyone he wants.

Yes he can. Just providing information so people who might want to can spend their money any way they want, specifically on some other country artist besides this one. Personally I like to know when celebrities are spouting contrary to my values and what I think is good for the nation so I can cease to support them and their unwitting, or witting, subversion of the nation.

Yup I’m wrong! Now I’m trying to figure out who I’m confusing him with.

I don’t know about Olivia Newton-John though for ‘country’ music, here or there.

IIRC, it was an Americanized honky-tonk tune that won for her: "Please, Mister, Please"

Yeah, I’d forgotten that. Denver and Newton-John showed there was a lot of money to be made in that market with commercialized glitz and marketing.

Garth is as stupid as H.W.’s “Points of Light” RINO-fest.

I live in Memphis and have never heard one C&W singer voice an opinion one way or the other about politics.

A more recent song with the same lament over the decline of real country music is a duet by Trace Adkins and Gene Watson “I Think We’ve Got a Pulse”. It’s a great listen. Check it out on YouTube.

Chicken-fried pop, and not as manly as the Dixie Chicks. What happened to country music?

Whoa! Haven't heard that name in awhile... Whatever happened to the Dipsy Twits? Haven't heard a thing about them since driving over the thousands of their CD's littering the country's highways.

You are right about Stalin. When he died in 1953, many in the gulags and others released from prison actually wept at his passing. This is what happens when a nation is so thoroughly and systematically oppressed and terrorized. The public knows of nothing else and cannot even fathom the concepts of liberty and individual responsibility.

Love George Strait. Loved Travis until I found out he donated money to the Richardson for President committee. That's Bill Richardson as in former Clinton Energy Secretary and Dem governor of New Mexico.

Check it out: Randy Travis political contributions

Well, people have quite a few friends a good many of whom aspire to certain political positions that we know they will not ascend to.

I have even given nominal money to friends who are in the opposite party knowing full well they ain’t gonna win and never will.

It’s just token money and were still friends.
