Mexico has draconian anti-gun laws. How’s that worked out for them?

Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

"I know some aren't interested in participating. Some will say that anything short of the most sweeping anti-gun legislation is a capitulation to the gun lobby. Others will predictably cast any discussion as the opening salvo in a wild-eyed scheme to take away everybody's guns. And such hyperbole will become the fodder for overheated fundraising letters."

More Bullshit from the "Bullshitter-in-Chief".

Obama believes people should have guns.....as long as those people are the Secret Service.

That’s about it.

It is already against the law for crazy criminals to get guns.

“But one clear and terrible fact remains. A man our Army rejected as unfit for service; a man one of our colleges deemed too unstable for studies; a man apparently bent on violence, was able to walk into a store and buy a gun.”

Is he suggesting three additional criteria to disallow firearms ownership? ‘Rejection’ by the Armed Forces, ‘deeming’ unstable FOR STUDIES by a college, and best of all, ‘apparently bent’ (whatever that means) on violence.

“But since that day, we have lost perhaps another 2,000 members of our American family to gun violence. “

Let’s investigate those incidents by race (4+ racial groups), demographics and drug/alcohol status of perpetrator and victim. He clearly implies that these incidents are purely randomly distributed without any causal features.

“I believe that if common sense prevails”

common sense = exploitation of misunderstandings, misconceptions, prejudices, ignorance and just plain bigotry.

“I’m willing to bet that responsible, law-abiding gun owners agree that we should be able to keep an irresponsible, law-breaking few - dangerous criminals and fugitives, for example - from getting their hands on a gun in the first place.”

If one realizes that this is completely and totally impossible - does this imply or suggest that one is irresponsible or not law-abiding?

There are many other such flaws in this article - he probably thinks he is committing a series of Jedi Mind Tricks. He is more effective when he speaks this rubbish than when he writes it.

FUBO from a rural PA resident. (bitter clinger, remember?)

0bama is certainly correct about one thing: the atmosphere has been poisoned to the point where there is no trust, no goodwill. And we don't have to look very far to see why.

There can be no good will because one principal party to the legislative agreement, the government, is intentionally dishonest. No one sane is likely to cede the slightest element of self-defense in trust to a government that feels it legitimate to decline to enforce those laws where it is advantageous to party or to racial politics. I cite the Holder decision to drop charges against an outrageous case of voter intimidation at the very door of the polls. I cite the BATF conspiracy - the usage is precise - to ignore warnings given by firearms dealers that illegal purchases were being made within the present system. Those firearms not only were illegally exported but used in the murder of the American citizens whose protection is the charge of the government, and that betrayed that charge in pursuit of political power.

Intelligent people don't make agreements with crooks, Mr. Obama. There is and will be no movement on this by firearms owners, under this government or any other that chooses to use selective enforcement of law as a political weapon. The problem is not in the paranoia of gun owners, Mr. Obama, it's in your mirror.

The first paragraph alone shows he is certifiable. Or, a lousy liar.

Either way, even though I highly doubt he actually authored it, it confirms he is unfit for the office he occupies.

Did you know that a person born with dual-citizenship like you were, Barry, is ineligible for the Presidency?

We need better eligibility checks for Presidential candidates before we need more gun laws. We already have 20,000 gun laws. Literally.

Since that Jarod clown wasnt a criminal, no background check in the world would have stopped him owning a gun.
You cannot ask some one if they were in the mental ward or is currently taking drugs for it because you would be violating the HEPA rules. His medical records are private and you cant open them unless he say OK to it.
My Ambulance crew was exposed to someone with a very nasty diease a long time ago but the Hospital wouldnt/couldnt tell what it was and the person who had it wasnt able to give permission to disclose what it was. So everyone who was exposed to this guy had to wait until he woke up so he could give his OK. Turned out he had TB so we all had to go and get tested{Thank God nobody got a positive on the blood work} and then we got shots.
HEPA is a very strict thing.I dont know if it would apply to this, but it could.
