Knee Jerk!
Maybe to Kalifornia (but they have windmills, Ha ha) I don’t expect major quakes in the rest of the lower 48 states.

Simply appalling. Even with an older design, the reactors and containment systems have stood up to one of the most severe earthquakes in Japan's history AND to a near-record
tsunami. The only apparent radiation leakage seems to be of nitrogen, with a half-life of seconds (for those in Rio Linda, that means it effectively becomes inert again in well under an hour).
Show us your degree in nuclear physics, Mr. Lieberman, or your Navy nuc certification. Or shut the hell up.

Ya know.....if the pols could relate how IRAN could DESTROY parts or all of America with NUKEs....maybe, just maybe, I’d have some respect.....The Japan problem is near NOTHING...considering what they’ve been through....but, I’m more worried about rogue nations and THEIR NUKES....not power plants attacking us.

Americans are going to have to learn how to “man up” again and find the courage to say NO to its public servants.

I think it calls on us here in the U.S. - naturally not to stop building nuclear power plantsStuff it John.
Coal plants are already being shut down and new ones aren't being built to replace them (with a few exceptions).
We can't just wait while our generating capacity is dwindling. Windmills and solar panels are not going to be able to make up the difference anytime soon.
Should we just sit around in the dark in our inoperable electric cars you "Washington twits" want us to drive?

put the brakes on right now until we understand the ramifications of what's happened in Japan. Here's a clue, Joe:
A 9.0 earthquake followed by a 30 foot wall of water.
Thousands killed by collapsing structures, fire and flood, yet none as a result of a nuclear disaster.
Let's put the brakes on earthquakes and tsunami.

Idiot.
Does he have any idea what a 9.0 earthquake feels like. The entire town is washed away with only the nuke plant remaining standing.
These plants were built for 8.5, people are scared of nukes due to horror films.
But you get 10k people die from a tsunami they won’t stop building their houses right in a tsunami zone.

In the aftermath of Japan's devastation, Conn. Sen. says it's time for temporary moratorium on building new nuclear plantsThat's what we get when we sanction politics as a life time career.

You just knew this was coming from the weasels. We cannot stop our nuclear programs. It's essential for our nation. There is no reason to stop our programs and what we learn from Japan will help us make the plants safer. This is similar to stop drilling in the Gulf. These politicians are beyond contempt. Nuclear Energy is vital for our future and we cannot stop these programs from going forward.
