Poll: Evangelicals have high views of Huckabee (Goody-Two Shoes Alert)
SRN NEWS ^ | 03/04/11 | Michael Foust

A new poll spotlighting the faith community's outlook on the 2012 campaign shows that evangelicals have high views of Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin, less-than-enthusiastic views of Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney, and low views of President Obama.

The Barna survey is the latest round of good polling news for Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor and Southern Baptist minister who is weighing whether to run for the Republican nomination. He already has said he will not participate in the early GOP debates, set to begin this spring. The fact that he leads among evangelicals is no surprise -- he rode the wave of evangelical support in 2008 to a second-place primary finish -- but it does show that his base of support has not eroded.

Anyone who would support Huckabee at this point must be as dumb and ill informed and as he is, as well as a piss poor excuse for a conservative.

From the townhall.com article - see below for the definition of evangelical as used in this survey.

Don't all these points apply to all Christians?

Barna defines "evangelicals" as those who have made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and have accepted Christ as their Savior, and who affirm seven criteria: They 1) say their faith is very important in their life today, 2) believe they have a personal responsibility to share their faith with non-Christians, 3) believe that Satan exists, 4) believe that eternal salvation is possible only through grace, not works, 5) believe that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life on earth, 6) believe that the Bible is accurate in all that it teaches, and, 7) describe God as the all-knowing, all-powerful, perfect Deity who created the universe and still rules it today.

Slick Phony Televangelists ...

Fred Thompson on Huckabee: The direction Governor Huckabee would take us in … liberal economic policies … liberal foreign policies … taxpayer funded programs for illegals … that’s not the model of the Reagan coalition, that’s the model of the democratic party.

No. There are many that call themselves Christians, but do not believe those points. The article should have added some of the morals that "evangelicals" believe, such as teachings against homosexuality, abortion, etc. that are approved by mainline churches.

“They only see he was a Rev and can’t get past anything else.”

Pot, meet kettle.

This evangelical wouldn’t vote for Huckabee. After all, I vote conservative.

I wouldn’t support Huck as the Republican nominee (I favor Michelle Bachmann but fear she in unelectable) but, if nominated, would vote for him without a second thought against the Usurper-in Chief. Of course, Huck may be unelectable as well. But I’d rather vote for him than hand the election to the anointed one by default.

He’s a RINO, he’s deceptive as hell, a natural liar and a game player.

Anyone that supports Huckabee is a fool.

When I see him, I think of the families of 4 dead cops.

If people wish to vote Democrat, vote for Huck. Otherwise, vote conservative.
