Gunwalker Goes Primetime
American Thinker ^ | March 05, 2011 | T.L. Davis

A bureaucratic cover-up of a lethal scandal is coming apart at the seams before our eyes.

On Thursday night CBS ran a second story highlighting Project Gunwalker. Gunwalker is a cynical reference to an operation in which ATF agents allowed assault weapons to be purchased in the United States and "walked" across the southern border and into the hands of Mexican drug cartels. This allegation is denied by officials of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) or ATF. In fact, in a February 4th, 2011 letter from Assistant Attorney General Weich to Senator Charles Grassley, Weich states: "that ATF 'sanctioned' or otherwise knowingly allowed the sale of assault weapons to a straw purchaser who then transported them into Mexico-is false."

ATF Agent John Dodson appeared on the CBS Evening News to refute that denial. Choked with emotion, he told CBS's Sharyl Attkisson, "I'm boots on the ground in Phoenix and it has been going on every day that I've been here." Dodson was obviously moved by the death of Customs and Border Protection Agent Brian Terry, who was murdered with one such weapon on December 14, 2010.

Not only was an American agent killed defending the border (the one that is safer than ever before...)by an AK-47 that was allowed to be “walked” into Mexico, facts are that the agent was armed with a non-lethal “bean-bag” weapon, per orders from our PC gov.org. His family are not happy.

>It’s amazing he is proposing ratifying a treaty his administration is violating.

Not really when you realize that his group is all about the selective enforcement of laws.

From what I’ve been reading this goes all the way up to AG Holder

So this was intentional so that they could skew statistics, do some photo ops and then cram a gun ban of some kind down our throats? I certainly wouldn't put that past Holder.

The lefty bastards were making such a big deal about the number of guns making their way from the US to mexico as a pretext to restricting or even banning sales. Now we know how and we know why.

String ‘em up - all of them.

Doesn’t matter. Doesn’t even matter if it’s true or not. Defund them.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Who, exactly, was Holder refering to by “my people”? Blacks? Thugs? Corrupt Federalies? Useful idiots? Americans???

All but the latter.

“American politicians send guns south to Mexican drug lords. Mexican drug lords send money north to American politicians. A simple exchange.”

Proof of that, (legal proof that will stand up in court), will be hard to come by with this administration. Even then, getting Holder and the Justice Dept. to prosecute will be impossible.

Wonder if the trail of money might lead to O’s campaign funds?

...just sayin’

Bingo!

Major gun ban/grab is a top goal of this administration.

Yeah, somehow I don't think that's going too well for them... every time they even look at the issue, it blows up in their face...

Billions of rounds bought and stored by the citizens, all time record of weapons sold in the last two years, anti-gun laws falling left and right...

and now, for icing on their cake, they just assisted in the out and out MURDER of at least two Federal agents while trying to fast one on the American citizen.

Nope, not going well for them at all.

Yeah, that would be “trying to pull a fast one”... Geez, heading back to the coffee pot... ;-)

Looks like you’ve got a fast trigger, uh, keyboard finger this morning.

Ok, ok, I’m putting another pot of coffee on for all of us.
Who’s bringing the donuts?

" Mexican drug lords send money north to American politicians. "

Do they? Somebody needs to be on their way to SuperMax if that's true.

Not “somebody” but a large segment of Senators and Representatives along with the heads of ALL federal Law Enforcement agencies.

Don’t you ever wonder how a politician whose stated salary is $150,000 per year retires a multi-millionaire? They spend $40,000,000 dollars to get an office that pays them $150,000! Is there a receipt made out to Pedro Gonzales signed by McCain. I doubt it. However, the border never gets controlled, the “pols” are allowing unrestricted entry by Mexicans, the drugs flow unrestricted, with an occasional bust to satisfy we Boobs. It is well known that “Pols” spend their entire waking life seeking money. The drug money is here; being deposited in secure accounts and discretely spent. There is no level of foulness to which an American politician will not sink.

Ain't lookin for an argument over this. Just sayin that if somebody's guilty of this they need to be sent to SuperMax or to be hanged.

AFTER they've been convicted of sedition, espionage, bribery, etc.

Evidence talks, speculation walks.
