Somaliland declared long ago that they are an independent country. Puntland maintained its loyalty to greatere Somalia until recently, when it said it would no longer support the Transitional Federal Government, which only controls a few blocks of Mogadishu.
The United States just a few months ago began a concerted effort to establish stronger relations with both Somaliland and Puntland, which are relatively stable compared to the lower third of Somalia.
So much for that.

Ten bucks says the Somali clans brought here by the USCCB will start fighting it out in our streets. In some areas the violence has already started between Somalis and Somali Bantus.

This is almost as worrisome as when the crips and the bloods had gang wars in the 80s.
Well except it’s across the ocean and the killing can’t spill out into quiet American neighborhoods.
But other than that I care just as much.
Or not.
