Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), the Tea Party Princess, played a noxious game of dodge ball with George Stephanopoulos this morning when he asked her whether she believed that President Obama was born in the United States and is not a Muslim. Leave it to the Tea Party Queen -- Sarah Palin -- to show Bachmann and others in the Republican Party the right way to answer the question.
"Do you question his faith and citizenship?" Palin was asked today during an onstage interview hosted by the Long Island Association. Her answer was brief and to the point.
"I don't, and those are distractions," she said to some applause. "What we're concerned about is the economy. And we're concerned about the policies coming out of his administration and what he believes in terms of big government or private sector. So, no, the faith, the birth certificate, others can engage in that kind of conversation. It's distracting. It gets annoying and let's just stick with what really matters."

That pesky natural born citizenship clause in Article 2 Section 1 of the Constitution is a distraction.

Of course she is right. When she says it is a distraction, what she means is that if she questioned his citizenship, the media would zero in on that and distract from her overall message. Let others fight the birther battle, Sarah.

O’teleprompter-bot-ama is sinking sinking sinking of his own accord, regardless of his official place of birth or his true faith or lack thereof.
I, for one, do not accept as sufficient, the documentation publicly available on O-bot’s birth, and doubt he actually has any religious faith, though he’s overtly hyper-sympathetic to Muslims.
But sticking to the issues that are actually causing him to sink makes the most sense, in the near term. After he’s no longer in office, going after his undocumented status will be easier, though moot, except for the historians.
Newsflash: Obama is bankrupting this country by running it into record debt. That’s what the voters will care about in 2012, and that’s how we beat him and his Democrat Socialists. You’re not going to get him out of office over his religion or birth certificate.
