'No one told her to go there': Now FEMALE pundit lays into Egypt sex attack victim Lara Logan
Daily Mail UK ^ | February 16, 2011

A female political pundit has been heavily criticised for suggesting Lara Logan should have seen her sex attack coming - and for calling the Egyptians who were protesting for democracy 'animals'.

Debbie Schlussel posted a picture of Miss Logan on her blog, under the headline: 'Islam Fan Lara Logan Gets a Taste of Islam', before adding 'How fitting that Lara Logan was “liberated” by Muslims in Liberation Square while she was gushing over the other part of the “liberation".'

It comes as an American academic, Nir Rosen, yesterday resigned from his post at New York University after calling Miss Logan a 'warmonger' who was 'trying to outdo' rival news correspondent Anderson Cooper.

CBS correspondent Miss Logan endured a 'brutal and sustained' sexual assault and beating while covering the resignation of President Mubarak in Egypt.

The mother-of-one had been surrounded by an angry mob of 200 people before the assault which is thought to have lasted up to half an hour. She had to be saved by a group of women and 20 Egyptian soldiers and was later taken to hospital.

Yesterday Schlussel, who is Jewish, wrote: 'Lara Logan was among the chief cheerleaders of this 'revolution' by animals.

'Now she knows what Islamic revolution is really all about.

'So sad, too bad, Lara.

No woman DESERVES to be raped (I’m talking about the REAL definition of the word) and anyone who argues otherwise is clueless.
The question really becomes one of USING YOUR FREAKING HEAD and being honest enough to realize when you are putting yourself in harms way or acting foolishly.
I truly wonder if Ms Logan still feels this was an abberhation or now understands what most of us know: islam is a violent, religious cult.

You are right. In some cases, leftists or people with a special agenda post here to make us look bad or to promote their agenda. The only people to blame are those who attacked Logan.

Were the two FOX reporters who were badly beaten up also blamed?

So was our male soldiers in Iraq and Kosovo. Throw in Lawrence of Arabia, don't get taken hostage.

Blaming the reporter is absurd, and so is blaming a group, each individual is responsible for his actions, Islamists or not.

I just told the truth and they thought it was hell.”

The FOX reporters severely beaten were Greg Palkot and Olaf Wiig. They could have been killed. Are they also to blame for being attacked?

I feel terrible for Lara and would never wish that sort of treatment on anyone. But, Debbie Schlussel just said what I’ve been thinking ever since I heard about it. What was Lara thinking? Liberals are insane, they think if they place nice and accepting to these Islamic monsters they will be treated differently. How utterly stupid.

The timeline of her assault is now down to 20 minutes.
The timeline includes separating her from her crew.

Logan did not report rape.
Rape was not confirmed, nor reported by media.
Sexual assault is an ambiguous term, but does not finely define rape.

A revolution can be a war zone.
Still, these guys and gals actually lobby for these assignments, or with joy, accept the offer of these assignments, and sign the contract.
Ambition often overides all else.

What happened is sad. Just as its sad when someone steps off a building and learns about gravity.

The world is full of evil and no amount of bowing or appeasement will change it.

Thankfully there were some good people around to save her. I’m sure the Egyptian military only got involved because of the bad press if she died.

I haven't seen any real informative details anywhere.

I caught a part of the View this morning where this incident was being discusses. Barbara Walters made a comment about it and was very, very careful in her statement not to use "raped" but alluded to the fact that "sexual assault" may have implied something else of lesser severity may have happened......With her influence, it's very possible she has some confidential sources who know the truth.

I have a gut feeling that whatever happened to this reporter is being blown way out of proportion.

It wouldn't be the first time a reporterette told a fib. A New York weather girl named Heidi Jones filed a false report with police claiming she had been assaulted by an Hispanic man......

I agree totally.

Terrorism by its very definition is to make people fearful of living their lives in a normal way. Reporters should be able to go into the field without being molested.

The answer is no.

Excellent point...

If her shirt was pulled off or if she was fondled, then it was technically a “sexual assault”. CBS has never said she was raped.

Ever.

If there is a time to parse words, this is it. She was not raped or they would have said so.

“Reporters should be able to go into the field without being molested.”

Why should reporters be any different than anyone else?

“Progressive” Americans need to regain their senses and ability to exercise judgement. It is time to accept the fact that there really are people and cultures with alien value systems.

How many times must we watch naive people place themselves and others in dangerous situations and then react with great surprise when they are injured or killed?

This isn’t a case of bad luck - it is a case of taking chances against known odds and losing the bet.

Americans once were known as smart people; hard to get the best of in business or conflict. Now we are known as foolish and gulible.

It would be pretty stupid to be a reporter then complain that you don’t want to be in any dangerous situation. In fact, if she did, she would be derided for “being a girl”.

She has a job she wants.

She was hurt in a dangerous situation. But I do not begrudge her being there doing her job.
