Do you know anything about WBC? They are the lowest of scum...protesting dead military members’ funerals and the like. Not to mention Fred Phelps is a buddy of Al Gore.

Then again, maybe you got lost on your way to DU...

These people are attention whores.
That being said, they also hope that they will incite onlookers into provocation, and then they sue them for assault, and usually win.

Being in the Patriot Guard, I have seen these filthy cretins up close and personal, and they are lunatics.

"Not to mention Fred Phelps is a buddy of Al Gore."

1988 Phelps provides rooms for Democrat Al Gore's presidential campaign workers. Though the Phelps-Gore connection will grow increasingly distant, Phelps' oldest son, Fred Jr., is invited to the first Clinton-Gore inauguration in 1993.

By 1998, Gore will be seen as such an enemy by WBC that its members picket the funeral of Gore's father.

That was twenty years ago!

Hey, you want to defend the scumbag, be my guest...I can only tell you that won’t be a popular stance w/the founder of the site (or anyone on it for that matter).

Maybe if it was your loved one whose funeral was being interrupted by these inbreds, you would feel differently. Then again, I have a feeling not.

Check out backslacker’s history; there are other posts sympathetic to WBC.

I'm sympatheic to GOD and to those who defend God. When is the last time you read a part of the Bible?

Do you believe what God has written through his prophets?

God has promised through his Word that he will take all that is in the earth, including our precious bodies, and burn it up to destruction.

Every funeral I've attended everybody forces false flatteries about the deceased and I just quietly shake my head wondering why these things weren't spoken when the person was alive. They say such blatant lies like "George is now in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus" when George never picked up a Bible. I i know that scriptures says that few will go to heaven. Is God lying to us in scriptures?

If WBC pickets my funeral, I would be truly honored. I just hope I had repented of whatever sin I am accused of committing.

How you’ve survived this long on this site eludes me. You would be honored to be picketed by the same people who wanted to picket the 9 y.o. shooting victim in Tucson????? What are you smoking?

I honestly don’t think we’re praying to the same God.

Just when I thought I had seen it all...

BTW, isn’t pride a sin? Maybe you could tell me since I am just a lowly Catholic (you know we don’t EVER read Scripture).

OTOH, never mind...my mom told me it wasn’t nice to argue with the mentally ill.

How could you possibly know no person ever said nice things about “George” when he was alive, or that George didn’t have a conversion in the final days of his life?

"How could you possibly know no person ever said nice things..."

That is not the issue. Did you miss the real problem? George, or whoever, did not pick up a Bible. THAT is the issue. Read the statement again. God didn't command us to say "nice" things to one another (other than truth). Most nice things are just flattery.

Please re-read the sentence where it says "DID NOT PICK UP A BIBLE." That means George did not READ the Bible! For a clear illustration, go to a nursing home (if you can gain access) and you will find Bibles on their bookshelves - but not in anyone's possession. WE WILL NOT OBEY GOD!!!!!!!

And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up." --- Deuteronomy 6:6-7

WBC does not invite people to Bible studies or do any kind of missionary work. They mostly spend their time holding protests and doing media interviews.

It's called preaching the Gospel - this is the Great Commission.
