Rep. Ron Paul, R-Lake Jackson, is blaming U.S. policy for the upheaval in Egypt.
"This is a typical example of what happens when we run on intervention-type foreign policies. We get in the middle of these fights. We've been in the middle of this for 30 years now. We've given Mubarak $60 billion. We're responsible for a lot of the mess that is over there," Paul said this afternoon on FOX News Channel's Your World with Neil Cavuto.
Paul, a potential Senate candidate in Texas next year, is a longstanding critic of foreign entanglements, and probably Congress' leading isolationist. His son, Sen. Rand Paul , R-Ky., caused a stir in recent days by advocating for the cutoff of aid to Israel, in the context of a broader push to eliminate all foreign aid. It's a goal he shares with his father.
"I wouldn't just cut off Egyptian aid. I'd cut off all aid to the Middle East and maybe that whole area would be better off for it," the congressman told Fox.
As for concerns that the fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood, or even Al-Qaeda, would fill the power vacuum if Mubarak is forced out, Paul said the real problem stems from a U.S. habit of propping up authoritarian leaders. Both Mubarak and the deposed Shah of Iran became targets of popular revolt because they were "our puppet government," he said.

Ron was telling Laura Ingraham that he’s a legitimate candidate now because people are seeing him on FoxNews and hearing him on the radio instead of just hearing what his views are from the MSM. Every time it becomes the slightest bit tempting to think that maybe RuPaul isn’t such a bad guy, he comes out with spew like this and sets us all straight.
So, do tell, Ronnie—old boy... If we just minded our own bidness, then the world would be a peach of a place, by your measure... And even though the tenets of Islam COMMAND its followers to “convert the world to Allah”—and by the sword, not through persuasion, old boy—things every where on Earth would just be ducky for freedom-loving individuals?

Those “peaceful” Muslim type, who were attacking the shipping of the Old World, the New World, and all points between... stealing ships, stealing cargo, murdering and enslaving crews... and doing this all without the slightest provocation or “interference” by westerners—from the 8th century up to the early 19th—in the name of Allah!

Surprise, Surprise, Ron Paul blaming all the problems outside of the U.S. on the U.S.
Why doesn’t he just cuddle up with Ralph Nader and decide which one is going to lead on the ticket to help Obama win 4 more?
He does have a point about The Civil War. Buying the slaves would have been preferable to killing 600,000 Americans. Emperor Alexander II of Russia did so in 1861.
Clinton, Bush, and Obama’s answer is to let Christians be slaughtered by Muslims in Kosovo, Iraq, Egypt, and Afghanistan. Freedom of conscience for religious minorities, (unless they are Muslim), in client states has not been a part of U.S. foregn policy since Ronald Reagan. U.S. foreign policy benefits those that pay for it — the Saudis and the Chinese.

—All great nations engage and manipulate abroad. Russia and China do. Even Iran does. Burying your head in the sand type of isolationism is a loser because power abhors a vacuum. China and Russia will move in where we fear to tread. Look at Iran moving into Venezuela and militant Muslims moving into South America.
Now the Coptics, other non muslims, women, young boys, and goats will have a lot to worry about, but, Representative Paul should not even wrinkle his brow.
But in the end,when all is said and done, this is what the majority of voters that voted on November 4, 2008, voted for.
That is the truest statement. That is not condoning wasted foreign aid, but too many people blame it for problems it did not create. Whether we had never given Egypt (or other mideast Islamic countries) a dollar, it'd still be what it is today.
Egypt would be a mess with or without us. Without us they would already be a Sharia Dictatorship.
The net results of The Civil War: (1) The blacks were freed from slavery, something for which they will never forgive the Republicans; (2) The suspension of the 10th Amendment; (3) The elimination of political opposition to the bankers, eventually resulting in the creation of the Federal Reserve and the Federal Income Tax (to pay for those Federal Reserve Notes).
Mubarak is tottering because he failed to protect the Copts from the Muslim Brotherhood. He broke The Social Contract. He has lost Yhe Mandate of Heaven. If he repents, he may retain his position.
I will not argue with your assessment.
