We will see. According to Swedish news sources the miitary appears to take over in cities outside Cairo: Sharm-el Sheik, and other towns in southern Egypt. In Alexandria the situation is unclear; still lots of protesters out on the streets.

According to security sources (reported by Reuters) the security police will return out on the streets of Cairo tomorrow.

Maybe Mubarak, Suleiman etc are playing a long game, a waiting game. As long as there is no rebellion in the armed forces the crowds cannot take over the power. Eventually food and other resources are going to become scarce, and there will be louder calls for return to order. However, one wonders why and who released El-Baradei?
