The Sunni/Shia split goes way back in Islamic history and they do indeed hate each other; witness the Muslim-on-Muslim bombings in Iraq, something that Saddam’s dictatorship at least was able to keep in check. As soon as Islamic leaders feel they’re in control of a region, the war between these two groups breaks out again.
However, I think the leadership can and does put aside their differences when the matter at issue is that of killing or conquering the infidel.
I truly think we have lost Egypt, its lost.
The administration is completely worried now.

The administration dilly-dallied, they are obviously not in agreement among themselves, Bambi cared so little he went off to his kid's basketball game while Hillary and the others met to discuss this - and the entire ME is watching and knows that we have no resolve and not the faintest agreement on what to do.

I’m betting Biden and Hillary are on one side and Bambi is on the other and we know who has the power.
Obama is running roughshot making crap dodgy decisions like the amateur he is.
I suspect Biden and Hillary at least are trying to rein him in but we all know Bambi, he dont like being told what to do.
