People who think freedom is breaking out across the Middle-East today are totally clueless.

Thousands of protestors on the streets of Suez

....Trouble in the Suez ....

We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
Since the world's been turning
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it

Only this “Nasser” may be a shiite .... or not
Won’t that be speshul

Shiites vs al Qaeda/Sunnis, bring it on. AQ in Iraq used to post about how their first job was defeating the Shia, then the west. Temporary alliances lead to a clash between permanent interests- will be interesting to see how far east this movement advances

and what is Saudi Arabia going to do? Watch Egypt go down and then...?

Is Ahmadinejad’s applause for this unreast sincere or a bit nervous?

Just exactly what is the undocumented kenyan doing about this situation?

F***ing up. That's what happens when amateurs get put in power. You may like Sarah Palin just fine, but she's an amateur, too.

Yes, but Sarah would dial up Darth Cheney for advice.

Syria reportedly suspended Internet services Jan. 28 in the wake of the current unrest in Egypt...”

If these Egyptians are successful at throwing over Muburak and they put the Muslim Brotherhood in charge, effectively replacing one form of oppression with another, well then shame the hell on them.

History indicates the moslems will not wait for a consensus to put them in power, but rather they will simply seize power. Apart from a growing threat to the world, that is especially not good for America's stability and security. So, shame on a lot of people.

You and I would campaign for whatever takes for freedom in the Middle East. However, based on my first hand observations (albeit a limited but fair sample), I do not believe the local ME folks have the history, frame of mind or spirit to conduct and prevail in any struggle similar to our American Revolution.

So, this could be "the day before" substantial destabilization in the ME and perhaps many other parts of the globe. Of course, there are anti-Americans within the U.S. and its government that would welcome any destabilization for their own agenda.

Do you have a link to any recent comments by John Bolton in this regard? Thanks!

That was the first time in 20 years that they had had a serious terror attack on Christians, and Mubarak certainly wasn’t behind it. Your golden boys, the Islamic radicals, pulled off that one, which is exactly one of the reasons Mubarak didn’t let them into the government. The Muslim Brotherhood is nothing but a front for Islamists.

I truly believe Hillary’s boss WANTS an oppressive Islamic regime in Egypt. Our oil supply via the Suez Canal will be severly limited, our economy will collapse much more quickly, and the government will start taking over large corporations, much as they did with GM.

I don't want to be personally paying for a dictator who has overseen the death of Coptic Christians.

Mubarak is thug.

Should we pay the Taliban or Iran next?

Won’t the outcome depend on what the Egyptian army does? Is the army made up of Islamists?

According to John Bolton (earlier this morning on FOX) the Egyptian army is not nearly as islamicized as, say, the Pakistani army is...so it strikes me as odd that the people in the streets are greeting them warmly..not sure WHAT that means (unless Bolton is mistaken).

Many middle eastern countries use the same model of controlling the masses.

So we sell a lot of advanced weapons to Saudi and where do they go?

Agreed. This feels just like Iran, 32 years ago.
