...veered into oncoming traffic in Texas, and hit another vehicle...

Talking/texting while driving, maybe?

She is also 1/4 Comanche.

Does that mean she collects free money from the casinos?

If this woman had not been killed, this would be a hate crime then.

“From what I've read, it was an accident, no drunk or impaired driving mentioned.”

There are no vehicle accidents save those caused by faulty equipment. And even then, someone is negligent for not spotting the fault. You need not have impairment for liability. Stupidity (texting, etc) work well.

Party affiliation is irrelevant. This is a tragedy, and to make it into something political is beneath us.

So sorry for the family of the mom who died, no matter how she voted.

If she has anything to do with seat-belt legislation come next year, she should be reminded to mind her own business ! She has no business passing stricter seat-belt laws that is imposed on Colorado drivers if she cannot even get her family members to buckle up !

Not only is she a democrat but also a school teacher. It seems that school teachers who are also democrats in any legislative body have a knack for wanting to play traffic cop. Thanks to her, she got a law passed banning radar/laser jammers.

I know she will be out of office after a couple of years due to term limits and it will be good riddance !

I just re-read every post above yours on this thread and pretty much all I could find was people noting, or reiterating, the following main points:

1) Party affiliation of democrats is seldom given when a ‘negative’ story about a democrat is published, but is usually prominently displayed when a similar story about a republican is published (an hypocrisy on the part of our news media)

2) The woman in question, a politician/law-maker who is a staunch supporter of mandatory seat-belt usage laws, was carrying passengers in her vehicle who reportedly were not wearing seatbelts (an apparent personal hypocrisy on the part of the politician)

3) The woman in question, who is claimed to be an ‘environmentalist’, was driving a large (one of the largest, actually) gas-guzzling SUV (another apparent personal hypocrisy on the part of the politician).

4) The public statements by this politician regarding the “accident” seem to be self-centered/self-serving, and do not appear to show any level of compassion for the person fatally injured in said accident (apparent selfishness/callousness on the part of the politician).

You are, of course, free to disagree with any of the points made, but assigning others a particular argument (one which they did NOT make) and then attacking/deriding them based on this assignment is not generally considered to be a valid method of argument.

I would ask that you please point out the particular posts which offended you, because I could not find a single comment in this thread in which a person claimed that this woman caused a traffic accident BECAUSE she is a liberal.

I agree.

There are very few automobile accidents. There are A LOT of automobile crashes.

Didn’t she kill a pregnant woman passenger...then that’s TWO persons

Oh never mind that’s one person and a blob of fetal tissue. My mistake.

Yeah ms. Brainiac was behind the wheel and steered into the opposite lane. Invovled makes it sound like she is in the backseat. When the D party is doing its best to strangle the life out of our Republic. A new outrage everyday. Sorry I find it difficult to have any pity on them. I really do.

"D or R?"
"Article doesn’t say so she’s prob a D."
"DEMOCRAT (D). I could tell by the fact that there was no party affiliation in the article."
"She is a ‘crat"
"She is a democrat."
"... a typical D who loves to tell others what to do.
No mention of political affiliation. - We all know what that means."

When a person is involved in an accident, I don't think party affiliation matters. It never comes up when an average citizen is involved in an accident.

Change the story to hit and run, texting, or drunk driving and now we have a moral element which might ad relevancy to someone's political views.

A crash is either intentional, or an accident. Most crashes are accidental. But some silly folks play word games and pretend that something that happens because of an error, or negligence isn’t accidental when it obviously is by any ordinary definition.

Those are ALL references to 'Point #1' from my list, and they in no way state, or even imply, that the woman caused the "accident" BECAUSE she is a liberal (or a democrat).

The news story is about an elected official/politician who is responsible for a car crash which killed a pregnant woman. If said elected official/politician was republican, instead of a democrat, then everyone here (except you, apparently) knows that the word 'republican' would have appeared somewhere between two and five times in the first paragraph of the article.

Finally, please see Post #48

Those were comments on the rampant media bias against Republicans. They really have nothing to do with the actual situation. Also, the woman wasn’t “involved”. She CAUSED the accident. If it had been a Republican, especially a conservative Republican, the headline would have been “Republican lawmaker kills pregnant woman in car crash!”

Your ‘logic’ leads to “No Fault” insurance and to people NOT being held accountable for thier actions.

It is you and your ilk who are playing the ‘word games’.

No it doesn’t. Someone can be at fault without intending to crash. (Duh!)
