Hawaii’s Governor Takes On ‘Birthers’ By SHERYL GAY STOLBERG

HONOLULU — Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie, who befriended President Obama’s parents when they were university students here, has been in office for less than three weeks. But he is so incensed over the “birthers” — conspiracy theorists who assert Mr. Obama was born in Kenya and challenge his right to be president — that he is already seeking ways to change Hawaiian law or regulation to allow him to release additional proof that the president was born in a hospital here in 1961.

“It’s an insult to his mother and to his father, and I knew his mother and father — they were my friends, and I have an emotional interest in that,” Gov. Abercrombie said in a telephone interview late Thursday night. “It’s an emotional insult, it is disrespectful to the president, it is disrespectful to the office.”

Mr. Abercrombie, who represented Honolulu in Congress until leaving Washington to run for governor, said he has initiated conversations with his attorney general and his health secretary about how he can make public more explicit documentation of Mr. Obama’s birth on Aug. 4, 1961, at Kapi’olani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital in Honolulu. He said he has done so of his own accord, without any request from the president or the White House, which declined to comment.

“He’s a big boy, he can take sticks and stones, but there’s no reason on Earth to have the memory of his parents insulted by people who’s motivation is solely political,” Mr. Abercrombie said. “Let’s put this particular canard to rest.”

Scroll about 1/3 down on the below linked page. You’ll come to some University of Hawaii letters from friends of Sr.’s. Do you see any reference to Sr.’s new bride, Ann? Do you see any mention of all the close friends throwing a baby shower? Do you see any mention of the happy couple showing off the future POTUS or “I knew him when” stories? There is an off handed mention that “though most of us then had no idea there was a baby” which seems more like grasping at straws or iow there wasn’t a baby whatsoever. How the heck would it not be the talk of the entire campus? Of course, we all know Ann was visiting old high school friends and in college in Washington within two weeks after the birth which shoots down the new governor’s newest claims of them showing him off at social events.

Barack Obama claims “particularly serious embarrassment will result from turning over the requested documentation” in the Berg case and has filed a request for dismissal and a protective order. Berg’s filing asks for copies of his birth certificate, citizenship records, passport and travel records, and other documentation proving citizenship in the U.S. as well as other countries.

...Was he still married to his first wife in Kenya in 1962?

Only if you believe he was married to Kezia at the age of 17, after he left the school at Maseno, and her eldest child was six years old when the son of a kenyan goat-herder left Kenya in 1959. But, as he said himself, in 1962, he hadn't been back to Kenya for seven years - since 1955 - any subsequent children born to Kezia, Auma for example, with whom Kezia was supposedly pregnant when he 'departed' makes their paternity questionable...doesn't it?

Married to Kezia? I very much doubt it.

SEE COMMENT #9 - Something not quite right about the dates. Malik was six in 1959 when Obama senior left for Hawaii. Now, 2008, he is 50 and Obama II is 47? Someone who tracks these issues should double check, but barring some mystical event, Obama II should therefore be around 42. How did Barack II gain 5 years on Malik?

Do you know if anyone has ever sent for and posted BHO Sr’s U of HA records? Now that we’ve seen the letter he sent to Mboya about how quickly he finished his BA and MA—3 years- and received the highest academic honors it would be very interesting to see if his record lines up. It would be interesting to know what courses he took. And since you found the article where he said he hadn’t been in Kenya for 7 years when he was leaving Hawaii, it would be interesting to know just when he actually began his studies at U of HA.

LOL! And so do I...but then, take into account he was really just asking for a job. Mboya would have known. Mboya was Oxford educated. And Mboya DID NOT give the son of a kenyan goat-herder a job; when he returned to Kenya HE WORKED FOR AN OIL COMPANY.

The 75-year-old adds he knew Obama Sr when he worked for BP/Shell in Nairobi.

“One of his friends was President Kibaki. One day when I was walking with him in Nairobi, Kibaki, then the Minister for Finance stopped his car next to us and offered him a lift,” says Tolo.

He adds: “The President rode with him to his office and I am told that was the day he got a job in the Treasury as an economist.”

Kibaki was previously Vice President of Kenya for ten years from 1978–1988 and also held cabinet ministerial positions, including a widely acclaimed stint as Minister for Finance (1969–1981), Minister for Home Affairs (1982–1988) and Minister for Health (1988–1991).[1]

There are other sources that place his employment with the government of Kenya commencing 1970. In any event, it could NOT have been before Kibaki became Minister for Finance in 1969.

Keziah and Obama Sr. first meet, marry in 1956. Three years later in 1959 he leaves for Hawaii.

How do they have a six year old son (Malik) if they only met three years earlier?

Mboya joined Kenyatta's party, the Kenya Africa Union, and served as its acting treasurer until the organization was banned by the British in 1953. With open political action made virtually impossible, Mboya worked for the same ends through the labor movement, especially through the Kenya Federation of Labour; he was its secretary general from 1953 to 1963. This work brought him into the orbit of the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions. In 1958 Mboya was elected to its board, and he became an increasingly well-known member to the European and American supporters of the confederation. Within Kenya he gained his first general fame for his role in the Mombasa dock strike of 1955, where his involvement helped the workers to gain a 33 percent pay raise. Realizing his need for more education, Mboya attended Ruskin College, Oxford, in 1955 for a year's study.

So we see that in the very same year that the son of the kenyan goat-herder departed Kenya at the age of 19, Mboya went to England to study at Oxford. Anyone trying to connect these two people in a friendship that led to the student airlift which commenced THREE MONTHS AFTER the kenyan goat-herder's son landed in Hawaii, LET ALONE his employment with the government of Kenya on his return...is really handing out a very LONG rope a dope IMO.

THE FIRST AIRLIFT LANDED AT IDELWILD THREE MONTHS AFTER THE SON OF A KENYAN GOAT-HERDER ARRIVED IN HAWAII.

And, since he made it clear out of his own mouth that he had not been back to Kenya for SEVEN YEARS - in an interview in June, 1962, how would he have qualified?

Now, wouldn't it make more sense to ask where was he during that period, from 1955 until arrival in Hawaii in June, 1959?
