Hawaii’s Governor Takes On ‘Birthers’ By SHERYL GAY STOLBERG
HONOLULU — Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie, who befriended President Obama’s parents when they were university students here, has been in office for less than three weeks. But he is so incensed over the “birthers” — conspiracy theorists who assert Mr. Obama was born in Kenya and challenge his right to be president — that he is already seeking ways to change Hawaiian law or regulation to allow him to release additional proof that the president was born in a hospital here in 1961.
“It’s an insult to his mother and to his father, and I knew his mother and father — they were my friends, and I have an emotional interest in that,” Gov. Abercrombie said in a telephone interview late Thursday night. “It’s an emotional insult, it is disrespectful to the president, it is disrespectful to the office.”
Mr. Abercrombie, who represented Honolulu in Congress until leaving Washington to run for governor, said he has initiated conversations with his attorney general and his health secretary about how he can make public more explicit documentation of Mr. Obama’s birth on Aug. 4, 1961, at Kapi’olani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital in Honolulu. He said he has done so of his own accord, without any request from the president or the White House, which declined to comment.
“He’s a big boy, he can take sticks and stones, but there’s no reason on Earth to have the memory of his parents insulted by people who’s motivation is solely political,” Mr. Abercrombie said. “Let’s put this particular canard to rest.”

HONOLULU – For once the conspiracy theorists who believe Obama was not born in the United States and the president’s defenders are on the same page.
Neil Abercrombie, who was a friend of Obama’s parents when the president was a baby, has only been governor of Hawaii for less than three weeks, but he’s said in interviews this week that he’s already initiated a process to make policy changes that would allow Hawaii to release additional evidence that Obama was born in Honolulu on Aug. 4, 1961.

The “comeback kid” is actually the “dead-end” or “dead man walking kid” because DADT and START are the end of Obama’s change and the progressives know it. The left wing orgasm for passing DADT will fade. DOMA could only be repealed by the courts with GOP controlling the House, so Obama is of no further use.
For two years Obama has tried to ram through the most radical bills that he could get through the Senate knowing Pelosi would pass anything through the House...and did!
Now Obama is guaranteed to get _nothing_ through the House and the Senate is far more conservative with 23 Dem senators up for punishment in 2012 for backing what has gone on since 2008.
Obama has driven the Dem Party into the ditch and I can't see that Dems have anything to gain and a lot to lose in 2012 by keeping him. That is my answer for why “Et tu Abercrombie?” and the NY Times have abandoned Obama, IMO.

Well, some of the phrases in the letter were in Abercrombie's speech (including Kapi'olani as O's place of birth), but not Abercrombie's sign-off, "With great aloha, Barack Obama." Could well be that the letter was created after the speech to try to conform with it, not before. Suppose there's no way of telling definitively.
Hmmmm...and considering that most mothers spent at least a week in hospital after the birth of a first child in that era, there would have been little time for Abercrombie to see the ‘parents’ at social events in Hawaii...
But we are beginning to the light, aren’t we? The woman named Anna Obama who was discovered living in Seattle MAY have been the wife of the son of a kenyan goat-herder...but she wasn’t Stanley Ann Dunham.
The Kenyan said it himself at an interview in June 1962 - he hadn’t been back to Kenya for seven years, so what the family in Kenya said when interviewed - that he went to the US and worked for an oil company and married a white woman makes sense.

You mean 19th of August, 1961? That is what I see on the transcript. I believe that a case was made elsewhere that classes started a month later, IIRC.
WHOOPS! Sorry, I'm glad you spotted my mistake, yes, it was AUGUST. And it has been established there was no one there at the University of Washington UNTIL SEPTEMBER.
The creators of the transcript made a boo-boo
The transcript obtained by WND that you posted says that it was the same SADO in Seattle who graduated from Mercer HS and attended U of HI for one semester in the fall of 1960. U of HI records that same SADO returning to HI after BHO Sr left HI.

Disentangle himself from the Great Usurpation? It’s it quite interesting that of all the people who are qualified for the governorship that he was elected at this particular time??? He’s the ONLY one on the face of the Earth, now or ever, who’s claimed to have EVER seen Sr. and Ann together. Why would he do that? He’s now come up with a new spin on the tale that he claims to have seen the happy couple showing off the bundle of joy around to friends at social events except NOT ONE of their friends have ever said they’d even known there was a bun in the oven much less had seen the kid. I ain’t buyin’ it. He’s not out to clear up anything and is crazy to go out on that limb because he’s going to get slapped down when he can’t produce the genuine deal - unless he knows without a doubt that the ink has finally dried and he has the new and improved BC in his back pocket already.
The only way I can see this playing out is that Hawaii is deep in debt and he’s out to bilked the White House (aka the US taxpayer) out of million$. Either he knows the truth (very likely) or he’s in on the scam (even more likely) to produce another forgery to the American citizens. However, this time the forgery will be so good it will pass inspection making the “conspiracy” go away (not that it can make the NBC issue go away). The powers that be can’t afford to have this old hippie destroy their house of cards.
