Glenn Beck said today that he has spoken to military experts about the mystery contrail from a few weeks ago and he says its definitely not a plane, but rather a two stage missile. He just wants to know where it came from, and he has a theory. Beck postulates that this missile was possibly from a Chinese sub off the coast of California, perhaps as a show of force to the world, but even more so to President Obama.
A weather balloon doesn’t have a contrail. Especially one that is that big, that thick and that dense.
Speak for yourself, Graffiti!
Aside from his style, you don’t think the things Beck reports are true?
Granted, he is dumb to take a position on this plane thing, but don’t you think the information about socialist connections, Soros, etc. are all true?
The contrail started over the horizon (approx 15-20 miles distant), not at the surface. The 'flame' you think you saw was the glint of the setting sun off of the plane's fuselage. Angle of incidence equals angle of reflection.
All the footage I’ve seen appears to have edits and is less than a minute long. The news reports said the guy stayed on the object for around 10 minutes. Whether he meant object as in jet/plane or just the smoke trail nobody seems to know. Seems to me an extra 8-9 minutes would show what it was, and if it was heading east or west and if it was a jet or missile. I mean, a trident is going 13,600 mph within 2 minutes after launch.

I don’t watch his TV show, don’t listen to him on the radio, he’s just noise to me.
Iran has submarine ICBM capability too.
European Missile Defense: Assessing Irans ICBM Capabilities
The Nodong-B reportedly uses technology from the Soviet-era SS-N-6 submarine-launched missile and has a range of 2,500-4,000 kilometers. It is reportedly shorter and wider than the original Nodong and has a dual-chamber control engine rather than the steering vanes of the original Nodong, which would make it more stable, more maneuverable, and more accurate than the original. Its Iranian derivative is sometimes called the Shahab-3B. Press reports in April 2006 noted that Iran had received this Nodong-B missile from North Korea, but it is unclear as to how many missiles were supplied and whether Iran is also indigenously building this missile.

Populists like Beck, Perot, O’Reilly always expose themselves as idiots in the end..
Maybe it was supposed to explode over the city and dump millions of Ameros into the local economy.
i think it’s a weather balloon
He's way behind the curve on this one and I wouldn't put it past him to be a crypto-flat Earther besides.
Someone who knows the man tell him to get right with God, and Free Republic, by reading some of our materials on the matter.
It's a plane!
Here's one from a year earlier, same "looks like it's going up" perspective effect:
The "flames" in the KCBS video are the same color as the cloud reflections, same color as the sun. They are only briefly seen. Unlike the white more constant flame from a plane.
The tv station video is very brief, the same shots repeated. And it's edited to give the impression you got. But there's quite a bit of good work done debunking the missile theory.
Go here for a great deal more. on contrails in general and this one specifically.
I see contrails from jets that seem to rise vertically quite often. With that said, you can see each individual engines contrail as the sky is alway clear when this happens. The movement is also very slow. I would have to see the video to have a real opinion.
He was merely making a humorous reference to the official explanation for the Roswell incident.
What if there was a little boy in the balloon.
