DENAIR, Calif., Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Officials in a California school district said a middle school student was told to take a U.S. flag off his bike to avoid "racial tension."
Denair Unified School District Superintendent Edward Parraz said Cody Alicea, 13, was told not to fly the U.S. flag from his bike while at Denair Middle School after complaints from other students, KCRA-TV, Sacramento, Calif., reported.
"(The) First Amendment is important," Parraz said. "We want the kids to respect it, understand it, and with that comes a responsibility."
Parraz said racial tensions boiled over at the school this year around the Cinco de Mayo holiday.
"Our Hispanic, you know, kids will, you know, bring their Mexican flags and they'll display it, and then of course the kids would do the American flag situation, and it does cause kind of a racial tension which we don't really want," Parraz said. "We want them to appreciate the cultures."
Alicea's parents said he flies the flag from his bike as a tribute to veterans in his family.
"He's got that flag on his bike because he's proud of where he comes from," Alicea's father, Robert Kisner, said.
Alicea folds up the flag and keeps it in his backpack while attend class, the TV station said.
I with say it again. It is not a racial issue. Hispanics are enthic whites. Hispanic mexican latino are ethnicites. Sorry my comma doesn’t work
Not very tolerant of Americans are they.
Pray for America
Cultural tension, maybe, but not racial.
>How ‘bout they appreciate the country that gives them the freedom and liberty they have?<
.
Are you trying to be logical?
Here is the school’s entry in Wikipedia. Perhaps someone here would like to “edit” it:

Well, Mr. Parraz, you know, like most real Americans, you know, even Hispanic Americans, you know, many of whom have served in uniform, you know, and still serve in uniform, you know, dying to defend that flag and what it stands for, you know, would probably disgaree with you very strongly VERY STRONGLY, you know.
Like, have a great Veterans’ Day, you know.
Bastard.
Words fail me.
Someone needs to tell the Kumbaya administrator that no one gives a crap if Hispanic students want to fly the Mexican flag. This ISN’T Mexico.....yet. If those little creeps want the Mexican flag to be predominant, they and their parents can haul their butts to Tijuana and fly Mexico’s flag to their heart’s content.
No student in the U.S. should EVER be told that their flag is “inappropriate.”

Actually, this is also a reason to fire the school superintendant until he can learn basic grammar and diction. The kid needs to fly a Gadsen flag form his bike.
The implied premise is that the United States flag represents "white culture," which is incorrect. The problem here is that we have morons teaching our children, who themselves become morons.
Becuase the American flag is the symbol of racism of course.
What the hell country am I living in?
Plaster the bike with American flags
They took the ‘contact’ portion of the website off-line. Cowards.

We have got to get control of these things.
At my church, we are having a protest because the Thanksgiving Day Mass is going to be bilingual. The priest has ignored requests to change that and instead published a call to “tolerance, acceptance and welcoming” of Latinos in last week’s bulletin.
Thanksgiving Day is an American holiday which the Mexicans don’t even celebrate and we will be forced to listen to the readings in Spanish and that awful, nasal blast your ears out music.
I’m frankly getting a little tired of the whole “multi-cultural” crap with the Catholic Church, who supports wholesale amnesty. I’m tired of hearing mass in three different languages. On Midnight Mass at Easter this year, the gospel describing Christ’s resurrection was done completely in Tagalog, no English at all.
I wonder if the Episcopalians will have me.
