Well, I did write that in a fit of blinding anger and unreasonable rage at the mention of the name of Jim Webb. :O)

Webb is not what I would classify as a “Reagan Democrat” nor do I believe you will find any Reagan Democrats in Congress. As some of the articles suggest, a “Reagan Democrat” would never have allowed themselves to vote for abortion in a health care bill, or amass the deficit without finding some way to pay for it, or voted for this health care bill without reading it.

What you saw in this election were the “Reagan Democrats” moving towards the Republicans through the Tea Party movement. That is the only explanation of Republicans winning Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, etc. If the Republicans fail to bend to the will of the Tea Party, they will lose them again but it wouldn’t surprise me to see another party arise that is focus on fiscal constraint.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say America saw what conservative Texas was doing right, e.g., no RATS, and voted the same for their own state.

RATS have now been by their own actions defined in the dictionary as disease and death to any part of the United States they sink their fangs into.

Like Detroit.
