Rasmussen: Rubio 50%, Crisp 30%

Republican Marco Rubio now enjoys a 20-point advantage over Independent candidate Charlie Crist in the U.S. Senate race in Florida, with Democratic Congressman Kendrick Meek still running third.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the Sunshine State finds Rubio picking up 50% of the vote, while Crist, Florida's current GOP governor, receives 30% support. Meek picks up 16% support, his worst showing since early July. One percent (1%) prefers some other candidate, and another three percent (3%) are still undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

This race remains Solid Republican in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Senate Balance of Power rankings. Earlier last week, Rubio held a 43% to 32% lead over Crist, with Meek earning 20% support.

What was Charlie’s sport? I have heard he plays both ways.......

You mean, he putts from the rough?

Charlie Crist's sport was baseball, and he is definitely a switch-hitter.

You know what a switch hitter does, right? He swings from both sides of the plate.

Hey Crispy, I can hear the "Fat Lady" warming up as I write this!

And Powers will be by on Nov. 3rd to send you off!

Well, Bye...

Crist gift-wrapped Florida for McQueeg with his endorsement in 2008. I’m fairly certain Romney still hates him for it. I know I do.

I am sorry that Crisp won’t come in third.

Meek has been a person of integrity.

The best news about this poll, if the GOP exploits it, will be to dampen African American turnout, which will doom Alex Sink.

I thought from 7 pm last night that Crisp knew he was going to lose, and he was so pissed at BO and Clinton for not pulling off the stinky deal that he leaked the story to crush Sink’s remaining hope - thus severely wounding BO for 2012.

Crisp: if I am going down, I am taking the kitchen Sink with me.

Amen. We don’t need to re-fight 2008, but if Romney had been the nominee instead of McCain, when the financial disaster hit, Romney would have been able to run against Washington, rather than be a part of it. His economic bona fides would also have been superior to McCain, for sure. McCain, notwithstanding his many attributes, cannot string 3 coherent sentences together and his debate performances were a disaster.

"Seems a natural for tight-end, wide-receiver..."

Yeah my first thought too but then my wife just pointed out that a QB spends must of the game with his hands near the Center's crotch and it all fell into place then...

(OK, that last bit was an unfortunate turn of phrase on my part...)

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that these talentless government hacks never go away, because they cannot survive in the private sector.

Charlie will have to reinvent himself. Maybe get caught in a bathhouse, divorce his beard and, after a brief stint relacing Kathleen Parker in the role of the conservative chick on CNN’s reality show “Spitzer/Whoever”, run for Florida’s 18th Congressional District (which includes Key West).

He’s one thing you can bet he’ll never do: Get a real job.

If this trend holds, Crisp is finished in politics. Maybe Obama will give him some deputy assistant secretary job. But then, again, maybe not since he prevented the Democrat from having any chance...however slight.

I’m no Mittbot, but when it was down to Romney and McQueeg, Romney was the better candidate by leaps and bounds. And you’re right about the debates. Juan was a disaster. Romney would have mopped up the floor with the community agitator.

lol...I wish I could find a video clip, but there's a skit from an old comedy show "Bizarre" starring John Byner.

The show opens up with a skit promoting the GFL (Gay Football League). John comes prancing out in a completely pink football uniform, completely playing up the effeminate stereotype. A reporter asks him what's unique about the GFL.

Byner, talking like Big Gay Al, says,
"Well, in the NFL, the quarterback receives the ball like this" (positions his hands horizontally),
in the Europe Football League, the qb receives the ball like this" (positions his hands vertically),
and in the GFL he receives the ball like this" (cups both hands side-by-side pointing up).

At least Romney’s positions have evolved to the conservative side. And he has raised a lot of money for conservatives this cycle. Crist is the worst of the worst. A total POS.

Please also put the number of Mr. Meek in your title.

The Democrat candidate is more respectable and worthy opponent to Republican Hispanic Rockstar Marco Rubio. He also served this country well.

I wold really like to see Meeks come in with a solid second to Rubio. He is a good man with a mistaken ideology. Crist should get a distant third for justice.

In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king. IOW, Romney is competent only in comparison. To my way of thinking, we are back to the lesser of two evils.

Well, we are drowning and sharks are circling. We don't need a lifeguard that finished 299 in a class of 300. We need Johnny Weissmuller.
