We don’t need to re-fight 2008, but if Romney had been the nominee instead of McCain, when the financial disaster hit, Romney would have been able to run against Washington, rather than be a part of it. His economic bona fides would also have been superior to McCain, for sure. McCain, notwithstanding his many attributes, cannot string 3 coherent sentences together and his debate performances were a disaster.
