Delaware US Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell Sunday called for a repeal of the health care reform plan enacted by the Obama administration and the US Congress.
The Republican hopeful was joined by a group of doctors, nurses and other medical professionals at the Glasgow Medical Center who expressed concerns about the growing numbers of uninsured Americans, treatment given to them in hospital emergency rooms that is not paid for, and who ultimately gets the bill.
Christopher Casscells MD, President of the Delaware Academy of Medicine, cited recent US Census findings that 50.7 million Americans were uninsured. "That's largely because premiums have gone up, because available plans have been discontinued. Employers have dropped plans because they couldn't comply with the regulations it's not possible," Casscells said.
"The unintended consequence of this legislation is more than doubling the number of uninsured in this country," Casscells said.
The gathering was billed as "Medical Professionals for O'Donnell." She also said the legislation failed to include meaningful tort reform. The tea party-endorsed candidate's Democratic opponent, New Castle County Executive Chris Coons, has said in recent debates the health care reform plan was not perfect, but is against a repeal.

WOO-HOO! This apparently all just happened today!

American Conservative Union Endorses ODonnell for her Strong Constitutional Principles
Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate Christine ODonnell has received the endorsement of the American Conservative Union Political Action Committee (ACUPAC).
The Senate election in Delaware is a clear cut choice between a big government liberal in Chris Coons and conservative Christine ODonnell, ACUPAC Chairman David A. Keene said. Coons will come to Washington to rubber stamp the quasi-socialist agenda of Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi while ODonnell will stand up for the Constitution, limited government and an electorate that has had enough.
The election of Christine ODonnell is a particularly important one for conservatives. Since this is a special election to fill the unexpired term of Joe Biden, ODonnell will be seated in time to participate in the lame-duck session and stop any more damaging legislation from being passed. I urge conservatives to give their support to Christine ODonnell.
The ACU is Americas oldest and largest grassroots conservative organization. Founded in 1964, ACU represents the views of Americans who are concerned with economic growth through lower taxes and reduced government spending and the issues of liberty, personal responsibility, traditional values and national security.
My campaign is honored to receive the endorsement of such a prominent conservative organization, ODonnell said. We will continue to advocate for a limited federal government and a lower tax burden as outlined in the U.S. Constitution. It is a contrast to my opponent, who would further increase taxes and cut essential defense programs that keep America safe.

Woo hoo!! GO COD!!
Rebellion is brewing!!
Very Good News!!
Thanks, Smooth.
This reminds me of what happened nine months ago in Massachusetts when Scott Brown challenged Martha Coakley for the "Kennedy" senate seat. All the pundits and know-it-alls said it couldn't be done. No way was a Republican in Massachusetts going to win the "Kennedy" seat.
I can still remember the final weeks of that very exciting election, Martha still had a significant lead (according to the pollsters) until about 10 days before the election. Suddenly internal polls started showing a dead heat or Brown slightly ahead. This was when Coakley went into full panic mode and Obama had to be flown up here to proper her up. I remember the day that Obama was up here campaigning for Coakely, Scott Brown had a rally in Worcester, MA (that I attended) and so many people showed up that hundreds more had to wait outside in the cold. Meanwhile in Boston, union stooges had to literally pull bums off the street to fill the hall for the big Obama/Coakley rally. It was then that I realized that Brown was going to pull it off.
Now if I understand correctly, Obama had to go to Delaware last week to campaign Coons. Trust me, if the internals had Coons significantly ahead, Obama wouldn't have bothered (and Coons wouldn't have him). Something is brewing here and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Christine beat Coons handily a week from Tuesday.
You betcha! I've said repeatedly the same people were counting when they said Castle would win that are counting now. Don't expect them to learn much between then and now.
Miss O'Donnell, however, is better known statewide AND advertising works to gain share ~ and she has had advertising that makes her seem like a quite normal person.
A lesson, if you are a young person and you participate in a comedy show, or something like Jackass, you might as well give up politics! Better that you do modeling and beauty contests Fur Shur.
Who wasit that said ANY publicity is good for name recognition? She certainly has people mentioning her name...Just needs to turn it into something positive.

Medical Professionals Announce Strong Support for ODonnell
Newark, DE More than a dozen health care professionals representing medical service providers in each Delaware county announced their strong support for Delaware Republican Senate nominee Christine ODonnell.
As a press conference held at Glasgow Medical Center, the medical professionals warned that Obamacare, which is supported by her opponent, will lead to increased health care costs and reduced services for Delawareans.
As concerned health care providers and leaders, we must register our strong disagreement with Chris Coons support for this disastrous reform, Medical Professionals for ODonnell spokesman Dr. Christopher Casscells said. He seems unaware of the five scheduled cuts in Medicare funding over the next two years, and has consistently opposed efforts to curb the predatory behavior of malpractice lawyers, which costs our health care system between $11 billion and $15 billion a year in defensive medicine.
It seems that Chris Coons has not actually read the law, which will amount to a government takeover of one-sixth of our economy. He justifies his position by referring to some lobbying organizations that claim to represent the opinions of the elderly and doctors. The fact is that this ill-advised law has precipitated an increase in the number of uninsured, increased the stresses on our emergency rooms, and pushed our insurance industry and healthcare delivery system even closer to the brink, said Dr. Casscells.
Medical Professionals for ODonnell includes a diverse coalition of individuals in the health care field who are unanimously opposed to Coons vocal support of ObamaCare and its disastrous impact on health care.
Chris Coons isnt listening to Delawareans. He takes his marching orders from Harry Reid and Barrack Obama, ODonnell said. The next senator from Delaware needs to fight to defund and repeal ObamaCare before it ruins health care as we know it. We need to start over and implement real reforms to fix whats broken and save what works.
