As the election nears, the party throws its weight behind unreliable centrists
Grasping to keep control of Congress, Democratic leaders are turning their backs on some of their staunchest supporters in the House and propping up stronger candidates who have routinely defied them on health care, climate change and other major issues...
--snip--
At the heart of Democrats' strategy is hard arithmetic. There are only about 170 congressional districts across the nation that will routinely elect liberals, and in the rest, Democrats must field more centrist -- and in some cases downright conservative -- candidates to win...
I agree
Oppose every single Dem
It sucks being lied to by your leadership.
And that number will drop even more if California is smart enough to pass Prop. 20 (and say No to 27).
So much for consistent principles... (out the window)
A vote for a Democrat is a vote for more of this agenda.
Think about that when casting a ballot.
Just a last ditch - though not the first time - attempt at preventing a total disintegration.
“and in some cases downright conservative — candidates to win...”
Asspress derangement alert. Democrats only come in shades of far left.
I disagree. There is only so much money available and you have to pick and choose where to spend it.
I agree. Take nothing for granted; concede not one seat; slash and burn, take no prisoners, give no quarter, and offer no apologies.
Yes, it is personal. They want to destroy America; they want us dead or enslaved. F'em.
Ok, it's late, and I'm still a bit giddy and elated after reading all of the threads about Sarah's Anaheim speech tonight, but just reading that title made me laugh out loud.
Oh, how I'd LOVE to email this to my dear uber-progressive brother. He's got to be walking around in a daze about the approaching Democrat wipe out.
I agree...but do you really think this admonition is necessary for anyone who might read it here at FR?
Hank
That's true, but the PACs already are working on where to spend their money. There are still other ways to reach voters in those remaining races and states using the internet, that only requires time and effort.
It’s a lie. The progressives aren’t being abandoned. They are going back to disguising their motives just as they have done after evey mess they’ve made for the last century. This time around, though, we need to be sure we aren’t stuck with their mess as all the other ones have never been cleaned up.

Ok, I'm officially in a state of stupid glee. Your post seriously cracked me up. I know you didn't mean to do that ;-)
ROFL!
I didn't catch the irony in that post until you commented. FR ain't exactly a hard-core centrist website, is it? LOL
Folks, there should be no safe Democrat seat. Our goal as Conservatives, Tea Party folks, Republicans, Independents, and yes, even millions of various types of Democrats, should be the total electoral destruction of the entire Democrat Party. This Democrat Party led by American hater, POTUS Barack Hussein Obama is destroying our nation on every front. Folks, get out and vote on November 2, 2010 to take back our wonderful country from these anti-American Democrat party polticians!!! Please, pay no heed whatsoever to polls, media spin or any lying word that comes from the mouth of any “traitor’ Democrat!!!
“At the heart of Democrats’ strategy is hard arithmetic. ... “
Well my strategy in hard arithmetic terms is: CommieCrates => 0, RINOs => 0, and Conservative Patriots => 100% who want to save Our Precious Republic from international, global political and economic forces! pure and simple.
Any Questions?
Actually the Democrats who survive this election will mostly be the ones furthest to the left, since they tend to come from the most Democrat districts. So next year the Dems will be fewer and further left, while the Republicans will be more numerous and mostly further right, thanks to conservative efforts at candidate selection. Next year will be interesting.
