KFC announced Wednesday that to raise awareness for World Hunger Relief efforts, it shut the doors of its two most historic locations - Colonel Sanders' first restaurant in Corbin, Ky., and the original KFC franchise in Salt Lake City.

When I read this I was in shock about the closing of the Corbin KFC. After a few phone calls the KFC in Corbin just closed for 1 hour!! They did not make any changes to the KFC. I just wish this would have been worded different so no one else thinks we have lost the KFC in Corbin.

I guess the real story here is that once again, a headline is written that totally misleads the reader.
“Eat more Chikin...”

Right next door, is a new Thai Restaurant & drive through? that used to be, years ago, ..... Dunkin’ Doughnuts. There is still hope that someday a KFC will return.
I have a friend who works for Yum Brands, the parent franchiser of Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, Wingstreet, and Long John Silver’s.
They are growing in China at an unbelievable rate.
She said it will become their primary biz location.
I always figured that in case of alien attack the Big Chicken would come alive to defend Georgia from the space menace.
I remember eating at my first KFC in Western Tennessee in 1965. Man, that stuff was good! Today it’s just too darned salty.

In 1975 I worked at a radio station and the local KFC advertised with us. Back then the flour and ingredients were mixed on site. The manager offered to give me the secret recipe. I never got around to getting it from him. Regretted it ever since.
That being said, his life was very hard. He didn't succeed at anything until he turned 65 and started KFC with his first Social Security check. He'd certainly known what it was like to be hungry, and one of the requirements of a KFC franchise owner is to never turn away a hungry man.
