For those of you that are following the thread regarding the Philippine flag being flow upside down.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2596569/posts
An alert FReeper, Ready4Freddy noticed that the flag of Myanmar is also being flow upside down.
As of the posting of this thread it still has not been picked up by the media.
The second flag in question is second to the left.
I checked all other flags of countries in the UN, and there are none that have a blue block on the bottom left. Only Myanmar and Samoa have a blue block and that is on the upper left hand corner.
US: Inverted Philippine flag was `honest mistake’
Is this the ‘We’re sorry because we are all stupid’ defense yet again?

Obama’s narcissim has become an epidemic in his administration. To hell with the rest of the world..it’s all about Obama ALL THE TIME!! We don’t have time to get your countries flags right..we have a Messiah to worship.
Be content that our first lady takes time out of her busy vacation schedule to take your wives romping through a chicken farm! Didn’t you get the cookstoves yet? OK then..shut up and all praise Obama!
Raise taxes to continue paying for this, and more bloat added by Democrats?
No thanks, I’d prefer Private Sector Growth...
Burma will be free again, some day!
I misunderstood your post.
I posted the original thread from the mail on line regarding the inverted Philippines flag, and wasn't sure if you had seen it. Later on in the thread Read4Freddy observed a second flag inverted.
BTW, how are the people taking the flag flap?
Zero and his crew have enough on their little minds just keeping the 57 US state flags oriented correctly.
ROTFLOL!!
You guys/gals crack me up!!
The US Government doesn't recognize the junta in Myanmar, and still refers to the nation as Burma.
From the CIA World Factbook: Since 1989 the military authorities in Burma have promoted the name Myanmar as a conventional name for their state; the US Government did not adopt the name, which is a derivative of the Burmese short-form name Myanma Naingngandaw
hey geniuses
it doesn’t mean”we are at war”
it is the signal for distress
someone is signaling distress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Distress!!!!!!!!
Insane person in the White House
I think it is being done deliberately
To clarify
a flag flown upside down at sea is the distress signal
My conclusion is that the upside down flags are being deliberately placed to signal a HUGE problem at the White House!!
THE FLAG CODE
Title 36, U.S.C., Chapter 10
As amended by P.L. 344, 94th Congress
Approved July 7, 1976
§ 176. Respect for flag: No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.
(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
Most individuals who have served in the military service of our nation will (or should) recognize this signal.
Surely we have a flag czar
Republic Act No. 8491
AN ACT PRESCRIBING THE CODE OF THE NATIONAL FLAG, ANTHEM, MOTTO, COAT-OF-ARMS AND OTHER HERALDIC ITEMS AND DEVICES OF THE PHILIPPINES
§ 10. The flag, if flown from a flagpole, shall have its blue field on top in time of peace and the red field on top in time of war; if in a hanging position, the blue field shall be to the right (left of the observer) in time of peace, and the red field to the right (left of the observer) in time of war.
True enough, but when hosting an ASEAN summit, we should probably go with ASEAN protocol, which does recognize 'Myanmar' as the country's name.
