Christine O'Donnell's Career, RIP (Power Line)
Powerline Blog ^ | SEPTEMBER 17, 2010 | John

Posted on 09/18/2010 2:18:41 PM PDT by RobinMasters

Christine O'Donnell's campaign went off the rails today when Bill Maher announced that he has previously-unseen clips of O'Donnell from the late 1990s when she appeared several times on his show. In one clip, she says that she once "dabbled into witchcraft."

I dabbled into witchcraft -- I never joined a coven. But I did, I did. ... I dabbled into witchcraft. I hung around people who were doing these things. I'm not making this stuff up. I know what they told me they do. [...]

One of my first dates with a witch was on a satanic altar, and I didn't know it. I mean, there's little blood there and stuff like that. ... We went to a movie and then had a midnight picnic on a satanic altar.

Why? Any candidate fielded by the GOP who is not a RINO will always have their history blown out of proportion while their dem opponent will always get a free pass.

THey aren’t happy about it. I also think Paul is wrong about the significance of it. But everybody can judge for themselves how any particular piece of news would affect the electorate.

I thought the story of her lawsuits would hurt her a lot more than this story will. I don’t see this story making any real difference, given that she’s already talked about her wild youth, and we are talking about stuff done in high school, or maybe her first year or two of college.

I detest Maher so much that it might an effective ad (as far as I’m concerned) might be “Vote for me, Bill Maher hates me!” :)

Where it says “Posted by John”, does that mean John Hinderaker?

Ever notice how the Dems go to the mat for their candidates no matter what, and the Republicans pile on if that candidate is conservative?

Interesting. Here are some things that haven’t ended the careers of politicians:

- letting a girl drown in your car while you sober up back at the hotel

- letting your gay lover run a whorehouse out of your apartment

- stuffing your freezer with laundered cash

- sexually abusing a young intern and lying about it under oath

But “dabbling in witchcraft” as a young woman? Terrible, terrible...

Or, was it that somebody in the Castle camp was making love to somebody at Powerline?

Oh the permutations; oh the scandal; these guys push this cr*p like there's no Internet ~ why bygolly I can trash them faster than they can peddle their poop pumps.

There is a robot which selects ads based on the content of the page. Not meaning to support PL, but they have nothing to do with the ad.

The story itself is accurate. It’s only Paul’s opinion of it’s impact that is suspect.

I wrote a similar statement after the story of her lawsuit broke; I still hope I am wrong, and Powerline still hopes she wins. They just don’t think she can win, and I don’t care whether she can win or not, I still hope she wins.

She also states it was one of her first dates. So I highly doubt it was in her thirties.
